The Hiawatha Buzz!

Message From Ms. Gengras in Art
Our Hiawatha artists have been engaged in unique and exciting art projects. Third-graders are weaving intricate fringe-edged tapestries, while kindergarten and first-graders are mastering the art of paper weaving. Second graders are exploring the fascinating world of Rya knot tapestries, a fun project for all age groups.
Our kindergarten artists are not just learning but also having a blast with a special art integration project on Wednesdays. The excitement was palpable when they found out they'd be doing art twice in one week! Last week, they kicked off the project by painting a tree. I'll divide their paintings into four sections, and students will express their creativity by decorating each season with mixed media.
I'm thrilled to continue sending home more of our students' beautiful artwork over the next few weeks. Your support and involvement are what make our community so special. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you to all who joined us at Church Street and Frog Hollow to support our first-grade artists in the Earth Day celebration. Your support for the arts and our creative community is truly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Cassandra Gengras, M.Ed.
