Parent Drop-Off Procedures for AM Arrival
- All students need to remain in their cars until the bell rings. Sometimes staff will come out a few minutes early, but students need to remain in their cars until the 8:30 bell rings.
- Please pull all the way forward before stopping to let children exit the car. The beginning of the line extends past the front entrance of the building.
- There is only one line of traffic during drop-off. Please do not pass any cars.
- Cars must stop at the cross-walk near the Kindergarten playground. Students should not exit their cars if the car has not gone past the cross-walk.
- Students MUST exit from the passenger side of the car.
- Children should be able to unbuckle their safety seats and gather their items on their own as parents need to remain in their cars. If for some reason a parent needs to get out of the car, the car should be parked in our lot and the child should be walked to the building. In these rare occurrences, students must remain in their car until 8:30.
- Staff will direct cars when to move and when students should come out of their cars as the line progresses.
- Children will either enter Evergreen through the main entrance of the building or through the Kindergarten hallway. This is all dependent upon which entrance their car is closest to each morning.
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Instrumental Music Sign Up Information
Is your child interested in playing a string instrument (open to grades 3, 4 and 5) or a band instrument (open to grades 4 and 5) for the first time this year? The attached document outlines all of the information and links you may need to enroll your child in the Instrumental Music Program for 2023-2024.
If your child needs assistance in choosing an instrument, we encourage you to register to attend Meet the Instrument Night on Wednesday, September 13 at Middle School East, where students will get to come and try out an instrument. Registration for this event is required by Thursday, September 7 at 3pm to ensure we have enough materials.
Music is alive and well here in PV because we are #PVSTRONG! We look forward to the opportunity of teaching your child!
PV Power Packs
Power Packs are weekend bags of food for students experiencing food insecurity. The bags include 2 breakfast items, 2 lunch items, 2 snacks, and 2 fruits. All food is non-perishable. There is no financial information required to participate in this program.
PV Power Packs is a volunteer run organization and all information is kept confidential. Names are shared with school counselors who arrange for students to pick up their bags prior to every weekend.
Please fill out a separate form for each child that you would like to receive a Power Pack, including children not yet in school.
We will begin handing out Power Packs on September 8th. If your child received Power Packs last year, they will automatically receive them this year.
If you have any questions, email Sarah at PowerPacks@pvsd.org.
Safety Information
It is important that students learn how to be safe. During the first weeks of school classrooms will discuss and review our various safety protocols. Then, during the weeks of September 11th and September 18th we will hold our "Safety Weeks" where we will practice the different Standard Response Protocols including the Hold, Secure, Shelter, Lockdown, and Evacuate safety drills. Student friendly and age-appropriate language is used.
