Welcome new PHS Staff!
Ricky Hammer: New High School Assistant Principal / Athletic Director
Went to Hillsdale FWB College (NOW Randall University). Won national championship in baseball. I coached 8 years at Del City High School, 6 of those being head softball and head baseball coach. I have spent the past two years at Shawnee being an assistant for the state qualifying softball team, as well as an assistant for the baseball team. I have taught biology, zoology, botany, environmental science, and anatomy and physiology. I have been married to my wife, Lauren, for 8 years in July. We have one child, Tynlee, who will be three in September. I am extremely excited to be a DRAGON!!

Del City High School/Hillsdale FWB College
What are your hobbies and interests?
Travel to all of the MLB baseball parks. Covid years slowed us down, but we plan on getting back out and checking off more this year. Best ballpark I have been to is Old Yankee Stadium.

What is a fun or interesting fact that people may be surprised to know about you?
I love to cook on my griddle.

Share a little about your background? Work, family, etc.
I’ve been retired for five years after teaching 30! I now own a private music studio and still love to teach music. My background is in Show Choir, Vocal Music and Jazz Band.
I’m a mom to two - son and daughter. My son has blessed me with two grandchildren, Murph and Mills.

Shandra Elmore - High School Registrar / Principal's Secretary
I have been married to my husband Bobby Elmore for 14 years. We have two children, Aubrey and Sophie Elmore. I have been self employed and worked in Purcell for the past 18 years.

What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My husband and I also love to cheer on our girls and their teammates at their sporting events. We also try our best to stay healthy and exercise.

What is a fun or interesting fact that people may be surprised to know about you?
We have two French bulldogs, Cooper and Roxy. We like to dress them in cute outfits for every holiday. They like car rides and go most places with us!

My children have attended school at Purcell starting in Pre-K. We have always been amazed at the level of support that the faculty and staff show the children not only during the school year but throughout the summer as well. I'm so excited to be a part of the staff here at Purcell High School. I look forward to an amazing year! Let's Go Dragons!
Toney Cooper - HS Head Girls' Basketball Coach
Love sports, love being outdoors, love interacting with people. Currently work for OGE as a Program Manager. When not working, in a gym somewhere working with young people. Active in my church, where I teach Kid's Church and play drums in youth. My wife works at our church, so honored I get to serve alongside her. Together we have two kids, Tia and Tyson.
Where did you attend school? High School and/or College.
Born and raised in North Carolina. I attended High School at Bertie High located in Windsor, NC. Attended University of South Carolina with a study focus in Business Management
What are your hobbies and interests?
I love music (all types); lifting weights, and anything related to sports!

Last movie seen at theater was The Batman, currently reading the book Endure by Cameron Hanes

the musical instruments I can play drums, clarinet, soprano sax

when I came in for interviews everyone was extremely nice and spoke passionately about this community and how all were welcomed. The support the staff and community shows made me want to be a part of this community, this school.
Susan Bennett - Paraprofessional
Married to Philip Bennett. We have two children Kylee and Carter. Kylee is a 2021 Graduate and Carter will be a Freshman at PHS this upcoming school year. Have been in PJH and PHS cafeteria for 14 years.

Living in a small town is where we wanted to raise our children. Some of my best memories is being from a small town. Purcell has always been our Family.
Samantha Resendiz - High School English Teacher
My name is Samantha Resendiz, but everyone knows me as Sam. My husband and I became parents to our sweet Beckham October of last year. My family is my pride and joy. I try to spend every moment that I can with them. I am Mexican and also first-generation American, which is something I take pride in. I love my culture and spending my summer and winter breaks in Mexico.

What are your hobbies and interests?
I love cooking, reading, and listening to podcasts. I also enjoy spending my weekends at the soccer fields, supporting my husband's team, alongside some of my best friends.

One time, I broke my leg on Friday the 13th.

Purcell High School has some of the best educators and support staff I have ever encountered. I wanted to be a part of PHS to learn from some of the best teachers and humans, so one day I can inspire students like they have inspired me.
Camden Patterson - Assistant High School Football, Basketball, and Baseball Coach
Share a little about your background? Work, family, etc.
I am fresh out of college as of a month ago from Southern Nazarene University. I grew up in the small town of Ames Oklahoma, with my parents and two older brothers. I attended Ringwood Public Schools from Pre-K to graduation in 2018. Throughout my life I have participated in multiple sports and 4-H/FFA activities. I decided to attend Southern Nazarene University to further my education and continue my basketball dreams. However, during my time at SNU I had to retire from basketball due to a heart issue. Thankfully I also found the love of my life at SNU, who I am engaged to marry on July 7th. I am very excited to start off my career and hopefully continue a long career at Purcell.

I love sports, being with my Fiancé, and watching the shows.

I showed goats from 9 years old to 18 years old.

I love the small town feel and the kind pearls that come from small towns. I grew up around small towns my entire life and Purcell reminds me of a familiar feeling. The feeling of a strong community and care for other people.
