Principal's Update Principal's Update

3/30/2026

Good Morning Memorial Families,

This week we turn the calendar to April, and we are so excited to have some warmer spring days ahead. After the long winter, it is so exciting to see the early buds on the trees and the flowers poking up through the newly thawed ground.

Later this spring, grade levels will be sharing pieces of their learning with families and caregivers during our grade level showcases of learning. Our fourth graders will also have an opportunity to participate in the One8 Foundation's Showcase later in May in Boston. In order to qualify for this opportunity and identify groups of students who will attend that larger showcase, we will be holding our fourth grade showcase of learning at Memorial on April 30th. Students will be sharing projects that they have completed using One8 Foundation supported curricular resources; ST Math and Project Lead the Way. To help us evaluate projects and decide which groups should attend the One8 Showcase in Boston, we are looking for experts in the following fields who would be willing to come evaluate the projects from 9:00-10:30am on Thursday, April 30th:

* Coding

* Engineering

* Doctors with expertise in concussions

* Mathematician, or people with careers in Math and STEM fields

* Physics

If you may be available to help us with this, please reach out to lchuk@mursd.org to let her know.

I hope that everyone has a terrific week ahead.

Warmly,

Wendy

Project 351 Clothing Drive Project 351 Clothing Drive

It’s spring! As you refresh your closets for the season, please consider setting aside gently used children’s clothing to donate.

Miscoe Hill's Project 351 Student Ambassadors are leading a Spring Service clothing drive to support Cradles to Crayons. They will be collecting new and gently used children’s clothing (sizes infant through adult medium) from April 1-8. They are also accepting new pajamas, underwear, and socks. Donation boxes will be available in the lobbies at Miscoe Hill, Memorial, and Clough. Thank you for supporting this meaningful effort and helping our students give back to the community. If you have any questions, please contact acorron@mursd.org.
