πThe Cornwell Connection
Growing Readers. Growing Leaders. Growing Together.
π Welcome to a New School Year!
Dear Cornwell Families,
Welcome to a brand-new school year! It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome you to Cornwell Avenue Primary Center. Whether your child is beginning first grade or returning as one of our third-grade leaders, we are thrilled to partner with your family throughout the year.
At Cornwell, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, challenged, and celebrated. Our staff has been working hard to prepare our classrooms, organize our building, and create welcoming learning environments where every student can thrive.
One of our biggest goals this year is to strengthen the partnership between school and homeβespecially when it comes to reading. Together, we can help every child become a confident reader and a lifelong learner.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. We are honored to be part of their journey and can't wait to welcome our Rams back to school!
With gratitude,
Patricia Scollo
Principal

π Family Literacy Tip
One of the best ways to support your child's success is by reading together every day.
It doesn't have to be longβjust 20 minutes of reading, talking about the story, and enjoying books together can make a lasting difference.
Remember:
π Read with your child.
π¬ Ask questions.
β€οΈ Celebrate effort.
Those small moments create lifelong readers.
π² Family Reading Challenge
This Week's Challenge
Read together for 20 minutes on five different days this week.
After reading, ask your child:
"What was your favorite part of the story, and why?"
β€οΈ Building Our Community
During the first weeks of school, our focus is helping every child feel like they belong.
We encourage our Rams to:
β Be kind.
β Include others.
β Ask questions.
β Try their best.
β Celebrate one another.
Together, we'll build a school community where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
