Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
We wrapped up another busy week at BHS as our seniors celebrated their last day of class today! The week has been filled with a lot of celebrations and activity, and we look forward to wrapping up next week with our freshmen, sophomores and juniors!
Please review the Upcoming Important Dates section below. We’ve added in our 2026-2027 Freshman Transition day on August 7th and our Open House on August 13th. Put these on your calendars now so you don’t miss anything as we move into next school year!
For our Class of 2030 families, make sure you refer to the important flyer that’s linked into this newsletter. We will make sure your students become familiar with the high school and will have a fantastic transition into next school year.
I hope you all have a great weekend, and we look forward to our final week of the 2025-2026 school year.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
To the class of 2027. Congratulations, you are almost officially seniors.
Parking Pass Important Information
Parking pass sales will begin on Monday, July 13th, 2026 at 8am and end on Friday, July 24th. Spots 1-79 will be reserved for the seniors based on their attendance, tardies, and discipline from the 2025-2026 school year. The remaining spots behind the football field will be designated to our juniors and sophomores. Parking pass purchases can be made through PaySchools on the school website. (I believe the PaySchools app works better on a computer vs your phone.)
Parking pass distribution information will be available at a later date in August. Please monitor your student emails for important updates.
Seniors who choose to paint and decorate their spots must not paint over their spot’s number and parking spot lines. (Again, please monitor your student emails for important updates.)
Seniors must submit a design to Mr. Moorehead prior to painting their spot. This design must be approved. Here is a link to the design form for submission: Painting for Senior Parking Spots Please send a copy of this form to moorehead_j@bataviaschools.org.
Tardies have become an issue. Students who choose to purchase a student parking pass and provide their own transportation must do so with the understanding that students must be on time to school. If tardies are an issue, then administration reserves the right to revoke a student's parking pass.
Safety!!! Any student operating a motor vehicle on campus must operate their vehicle safely. Any students caught speeding or making other unsafe choices will have their parking pass revoked. Administration will determine the level of consequence based on the unsafe behavior.
Parking Pass Prices:
$50 = Standard Parking Pass (valid for entire 2026-2027 school year.)
$70 = Senior Parking Pass w/ the option to paint/decorate your spot. (This is for seniors only. This is not required and seniors can purchase the standard parking pass if they do not wish to paint/decorate their spot.)
$25 = 2nd Semester Only Parking Pass - Available January 4th, 2027 (This option will be available at the start of 2nd semester for new drivers who receive their license during the 2nd semester of the school year.)
Have a great weekend.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students
Please Take Note of the Following:
Attention: please check your student’s school fees and cafeteria fee balances. Students attending prom must have all fees paid. Also, all seniors must settle their outstanding balances, not only for prom, but also to receive their physical diplomas. Take care of these fees soon. Thank you.

SchooLinks Access for Parents
What is SchooLinks? SchooLinks is a new online platform Batavia is utilizing this year that provides a variety of tools designed to help students explore and collect information on colleges, careers, and tracking how they are meeting their graduation requirements -, as well as developing a plan for after high school. Guardians can track their student's progress and support their journey toward post-secondary success. The attached document gives guardians directions for logging into SchooLinks and viewing their student’s account.
The FAFSA Application is still Open!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
