This year, daylight saving time ends Sunday, Nov. 1st, with clocks rolling back one hour at 2 a.m.

We are so grateful for the time, care, and energy our volunteers bring to Jerabek. Your support makes a meaningful difference for our students and staff!

As a friendly reminder, volunteers may take photos only with the teacher’s approval. When helping in classrooms, please follow the teacher’s direction and share your time equitably among all students, allowing each child space to work independently and stay engaged in learning.

Preparing for severe weather is a shared effort. San Diego Unified is taking steps to protect our schools, coordinate with local emergency agencies and help families prepare for potential heavy rain, flooding and other weather-related emergencies.

Parents/Guardians please be advised that if you have not completed the Universal Form - Photo/Video/Media Release in Powerschool Parent Portal, your student's picture will not be published in this year's yearbook.

In addition, if you checked the Do Not Publish box, this includes yearbook and your student's picture will not be included. If you check this box first, you will not see the populated options on the form.

Jerabek Elementary will begin a Whole Site Modernization project this year. The project involves new building for TK, K and 1st grade and whole site improvements. SDUSD is finalizing project details and is creating fact sheets to distribute upon final approval. The proposed phasing for the 2026-2027 school year is as follows:

Spring Break 2027 - Set up staging area SW corner of parking lot

May 2027 - Install portable bungalows on west playground

May/June2027 - Begin relocation prep

Relocation from current bungalows will begin after the school year is over and will not interrupt our testing schedule. Many of our school events this year have earlier calendar dates to accommodate the project kick-off.

Dear Jerabek Families,

This year, we made a small change to our fundraising calendar: our Annual Giving Campaign will take place in April rather than at the beginning of the school year.

For now, we’re focusing our fundraising efforts on making this year’s Jog-A-Thon on Friday, November 6th a huge success. The Annual Giving Campaign in April will provide another opportunity for our community to come together and help bridge any remaining gap between the funds raised through Jog-A-Thon and our overall fundraising goals.

We encourage all families to put their fundraising efforts behind Jog-A-Thon and contribute in whatever way they can. Not only is it an important fundraiser that helps support the programs, resources, and experiences our students enjoy, but it’s also one of the most fun and memorable events of the year for our kids!
