AMS Weekly Update

Good Evening,

I apologize for sending multiple emails this evening, but I forgot to include some important information from our nurses in my earlier message about schedules being available in iPass.

Please review the information below from our Middle School Health Office:

We hope you had a great summer! As a reminder, we need medication and paperwork for any student who has a life-threatening allergy and/or other chronic medical condition at the start of the new school year.

The following are required:

• The medication in its original pharmacy packaging

• A signed doctor's order

• A signed parental consent form

One of the middle school nurses will be in the office during the following dates/times for medication drop-off:

• Thursday, August 22, 3:00–4:00 PM

• Monday, August 26, 12:00–2:30 PM

Attached here is a copy of our Parental Consent form, giving us permission to administer medication in the health office. If the doctor provides the order on their own letterhead, you can ignore the top part of this form.

Please reach out to the nurses with any questions or concerns.

I look forward to meeting many of our students and parents over the next few days at 6th Grade Orientation tomorrow and the optional locker setup for 7th and 8th grades on Friday.

Detail reminders:

6th Grade Orientation: August 22nd (Parent/guardian must attend with the student). This event is not required but is highly recommended.

• Last names A–L: 4:00–5:00 PM

• Last names M–Z: 5:00–6:00 PM

Optional 7th–8th Grade Locker Setup: August 23rd, 12:30–2:00 PM (Parent/guardian must attend with the student).

As mentioned in my update last week, the building will be open from 3:00–4:30 PM on Monday, August 26th, for those who cannot attend on the 22nd or 23rd but would still like to set up their lockers and find their classrooms. A parent/guardian must attend with students during this time.

I will send another update on Friday afternoon with back-to-school reminders for our first day of school next Wednesday!
