Congratulations Term 2 High Honors & Honors Crew Members
With the addition of seven eighth-grade translators, a total of 21 students have contributed to our project this year — on top of their regular academics and after-school commitments.
🧠Congratulations🧠 to the ten students who achieved Honors in Term 2, as well as the nine others who earned High Honors.
Recognizing our crew members who also succeed on the court 🏀
Our 8th grade students, who started this program with us as 5th graders are getting busier. With the start of the new year, these older students have even more opportunities to participate in after school activities.
🏀Congratulations🏀 to Kolby, and Cooper who represented our DMS Basketball teams this winter.
Inspiring little learners at Mason Road Elementary School
On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, fourteen members of our crew brought ANITA to Mason Road Elementary School to celebrate Read Across America Week. We split into teams of two and visited seven different classrooms, where we read our book to the students and shared stories about the experiences our afterschool club has had along the way.
We explained that we’ve been working on this project for four years and that it has led to some truly amazing experiences and opportunities. To keep the learning going, we also donated copies of both of our books to the school library so students can check them out and read them on their own.
A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Marrier, Mrs. Connor, Mrs. Faubert, Mrs. Courtemanche, Mrs. Pontbriand, Mrs Fazio and Mrs. Hooper for welcoming us into your classrooms!

Letter from Mrs. Gray
Thank you so much for visiting Mason Road School with the crew of The Adventures of Anita. The students are still talking about your incredible adventures! They were so excited to hear about the journey of Anita, the process of writing and publishing the book, and of course seeing the boat in person.
We truly appreciate the time you and the students took to share your experience with our first graders. It was such a meaningful way to celebrate Read Across America Week. We’re already looking forward to following Anita’s upcoming adventures!
Thank you again for making the day so special for our students.
Sincerely,
M.Gray and the entire 1st-grade team

PTO purchases 30 LAS ADVENTURAS DE ANITA books
Mr. Provost, our DMS Spanish teacher, partnered with the Dudley PTO to bring a class set of our miniboat book into his classroom. It’s a true full-circle moment for the students—first we had the educational experience, then we built the boat, helped write the book about it, and even translated it. Now that same book is being used in classes at DMS so other students can learn from our journey.
