The Science of Hidden Brilliance
When leaves change color, they aren't actually creating new pigments from scratch. The vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds were already there all summer long, hidden beneath the dominant green chlorophyll.
Just like those autumn leaves, some of your brightest ideas and deepest talents take time to show themselves to the world. Don't worry if your full potential isn't always visible to everyone right away; your "true colors" are just waiting for the right season to shine.
Important Dates and Updates
AIG/Title 1/Volunteer/PTA/ESL
A big thank you to all of our wonderful Trask families who joined us for our Title 1, Volunteer/PTA, and AIG Informational Night on September 14! We enjoyed sharing information, answering questions, and getting to know our families while enjoying delicious apple slices and toppings. It was a wonderful evening filled with connection and conversation!
We also want to thank everyone who joined us for our ESL/AIG Family Night. We had a great time sharing information about our programs, enjoying walking tacos, and most importantly, having meaningful conversations with families.
We are so grateful for the support, questions, ideas, and enthusiasm our Trask families bring to our school community. Thank you for being a part of the Trask family and for partnering with us to support our students!

The liaison’s responsibilities include: meeting attendance, sharing meeting notes and relevant issues with the school, as well as advocating for gifted education. Thank you to Ms. Lynsie King for being our Trask Liaison for the Gifted Advisory Council!
All are welcome!

COMING SOON: Differentiated Instructional Plans (DEPs)
All DEPs are finished and waiting for review from the teachers. In the next few weeks, the teachers will be discussing and signing each DEP for our AIG population. DEPs willl be emailed to parents by the end of October for electronic signatures. If you do not see an email with this information by the end of October, please check your spam or junk folder.
Think of the DEP as a roadmap for your child’s journey through the school year. Like planning a cross-country trip, it highlights your child’s strengths, outlines the best path for continued growth, and identifies the supports and strategies that will help them be successful. Our goal is to ensure each student’s experience is personalized, purposeful, and designed to help them grow.
I look forward to partnering with you throughout the school year! As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like to discuss your child’s DEP.
