Message from Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause as a school community to remember a day that forever changed our nation. None of our current students were alive that morning, yet understanding what happened and what it meant to Americans is an important part of knowing our history. We remember nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, the first responders and countless others who showed extraordinary courage and compassion, and the families and communities forever changed by that day. May we continue to teach our students not only to remember September 11, but also to carry forward the values of kindness, courage, service, and unity that emerged after the tragedy.
In the spirit of service, today we celebrate our collaborative partnerships with the Coronado Police Department, Coronado Fire Department, and the United States Navy. These agencies prioritize the health and safety of our students, staff, and community members, and are always available and accessible to support us in times of need. These relationships help to define CUSD, and the value of their efforts cannot be overstated. Thank you.
Weather forecasts on NOAA for next week are promising, with registered projections throughout the week well below our Heat Index threshold. While we will continue to monitor this weekend, we anticipate (and are excited for!) a full week of instruction in CUSD.
Have a restful, COOL, and safe weekend. We hope to see many of you at the Coronado Schools Foundation Gala this weekend!
