One of Gold Rush’s honored traditions is our annual fun run known as The Digger Dash. The Digger Dash promotes fitness and fun while raising money for our school. We are excited to update our 15 year old library with cozy reading nooks and collaborative seating areas. We know the updated space will further develop a love of reading. 100% of the donations received will go to this project.

GRE staff kicked off fundraising efforts with an all school assembly. Staff played a game of musical chairs to highlight the quality of our current chairs. Students enjoyed watching the winning teachers cover the principal and assistant principal with silly string. They were equally excited to learn that the fastest students in each class will also have the opportunity to silly string GRE leaders. Students were excited to watch staff get silly and they are excited for future renovations!

This year the Digger Dash will be held on Friday, September 15th. Please see the Digger Dash flier and envelope that were sent home today. Families can make Digger Dash donations at MySchoolBucks.com or send in cash and/or checks. The grade level schedule is also listed.

We know that all students will benefit from the changes to the library made possible through this event!

It was great to see many families at Back to School Night Wednesday! It was an opportunity to learn about school celebrations and current school goals. It was also a chance to hear about your child's year to come.

Please see the school presentation below if you were unable to attend. GRE's Spring 2023 CMAS data was shared as a school celebration. The average third, fourth and fifth grader outperformed the District in Math and Science! The average GRE third and fifth grader also outperformed students at all other schools in Parker (public and charter) in math and they were behind one school by one point on the ELA assessment. We couldn't be more proud of our students, teachers and families! We thank parents for reading with their children and practicing math facts at home each night. We know that even a few minutes spent working on these skills each day significantly increases student achievement.

Our counselor, Mrs. Fitch, also spoke about our efforts to enhance students' essential skills, or their ability to remain regulated and persistent when presented with challenges. She shared the importance of modeling problem solving strategies and calming techniques.

As always, we appreciate your partnership as we work to support your child academically, socially and emotionally this year!

USING DATA TO SET GOALS USING DATA TO SET GOALS

Understanding each child’s academic, social and emotional strengths and needs is something GRE teachers strive to do. Classroom teachers are currently administering a variety of assessments, including individual and computerized reading and math measures, to determine students’ interests, abilities and areas of growth. Teachers will use this data to set individual goals with students when these assessments are complete. Student's individual goals will be monitored and adjusted through the year.

We look forward to sharing your child's initial data and goals during fall conferences.
