Inservice Day

There is no school for students on Monday, February 17 due to a teacher inservice day! Enjoy your long weekend!

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

zoom_out_map
February is Career and Technical Education month. This week we are highlighting our Family and Consumer Sciences which offer our students hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for life beyond the classroom! From mastering kitchen skills to understanding child development, our courses provide essential knowledge for personal growth and career exploration.

Students have the opportunity to dive into food and nutrition, where they learn about eating habits, food preparation, kitchen safety, sanitation, and the ins and outs of the restaurant and food/beverage services industry. They even get to run mock restaurants, gaining real-world experience in guest services, management, and marketing!

For those interested in working with children, our child development courses cover physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth, along with an early childhood education class that offers certification for students to work in licensed childcare environments.

Whether they’re baking, cooking, exploring career paths, or developing essential life skills, our FCS students are gaining valuable experiences that will serve them well in the future!

Omro Middle School and Omro High School Staff Train to Stop the Bleed

On Wednesday, January 29, staff at Omro Middle and High School took part in an important training session to learn how to Stop the Bleed in emergency situations. The training covered various techniques to manage bleeding emergencies, combining both instructional guidance and hands-on participation. Participants were taught three life-saving skills through the ACS Stop the Bleed course: applying direct pressure to a wound using your hands, packing a wound to control severe bleeding, and correctly applying a tourniquet to prevent blood loss. These skills are essential for providing immediate assistance before professional medical help arrives, especially in a school setting where anything can happen!
