Week of May 10

Dear Duval Families-

We are currently looking for two parent representatives to join next year’s School Council! The School Council works collaboratively to help develop and refine the Duval School Improvement Plan and plays an important role in supporting our school community. Meetings are held virtually about five times throughout the school year on Wednesdays and typically last about an hour. If you are interested in serving as a parent representative, please contact Ms. Craig.

We would also like to remind families that Kindergarten Information Night will take place this Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the Duval School Library. Families will have the opportunity to meet the kindergarten teachers and learn helpful ways to prepare both you and your child for a successful start to kindergarten. We hope to see you there!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Ms. Craig and Mrs. Salamone

Safety Notes

- If doing Parent Pick Up please do not arrive to school prior to 3PM. We have had complaints of traffic backing up on to South Ave.

- There is also no public access behind the building during school hours. Even if the cones aren't up, please don't drive around the building 9:20am-3pm.

- Students MUST come to school prepared to go outside which includes a coat. We know weather is changing, but it can be unexpectedly cold some days at recess. Please email Ms. Craig or Mrs. Salamone if you need help getting winter gear.

- Traffic around Duval is ONE WAY. Toward South Ave both in front and behind the school. There is NO PASSING during Drop Off or Pick Up.

- Please don't rely on a phone call or email during the day for dismissal changes. Unless it is an emergency, please send a note.

Signups will open to everyone on Sunday May 17th via the PTO Facebook group and the Duval Dispatch.
