Hall Star Shine Weekly

All students are welcome to wear pajamas this Friday, October 31st.

Costumes, candy, tricks and treats are not allowed.

💙 We are grateful to Cargill Foundation for funding an amazing adventure on the Mississippi River with our Grade 4 Hall Stars, who took their learning to the water last week, canoeing on the mighty Mississippi River as part of their Wilderness Inquiry STEM and Minnesota History lessons. 🛶

Students experienced hands-on science, teamwork, and a deep connection to our state’s history, all while paddling through crisp fall sunshine and stunning autumn colors. 🍁

Each month, MPS staff have an opportunity to nominate their colleagues for MPS Shines.

Our first graders in Ms. Holder’s class explored the wonder of plant life this week in Makerspace! Students examined and saved seeds from our raised bed gardens - eggplants, green beans, tomatoes, and marigolds - while also learning how to propagate plants from our Broadway Butterfly medicinal garden. Using herbs like rosemary, lavender, sage, thyme, and lemon balm, they discovered how new plants can grow from cuttings placed in water. Hands-on learning never smelled so sweet! 🌱💜

Our Hall Stars in Grades 3-5 are 2 wheels into their Biking Unit in Phy Ed. Ms. Stewart, along with our community partners at the Loppet Foundation, are teaching bike safety, bike care and bicycling skills riding on our playground blacktop and around our school block!
