Principal's Message

Reutter School Families,

It was so wonderful to have all of our students return back to Reutter School this past Wednesday. Over the course of our first week of school, students were provided an orientation to the school's procedures and expectations by their homeroom teachers, participated in homeroom and individual pictures, and attended a grade level presentation on school expectations, our character development program, and a review of our school security procedures. It is always amazing how students become acclimated to the layout and norms of the school by the end of the first week. We are all hoping for a safe, healthy, and academically rewarding school year.

Next week, we will conduct baseline academic assessments for all our students in Math and ELA. This information will be used by our teachers to inform and guide their instructional programming.

Please look for our weekly email correspondence as the primary method of communication between the school and families. We will also communicate information about our school on a regular basis Class Dojo, the district website at www.franklintwpschools.org, and on social media accounts through the school's profile.

Educationally Yours,

Mr. Theodore Peters

Principal

Caroline L. Reutter School

Counselor's Corner

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I hope that you are feeling refreshed and excited for the start of a brand new school year! As the school counselor, I am honored to be a part of your child's educational journey here at Caroline L. Reutter School. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share some information about the valuable support and resources available to you and your children throughout the upcoming year.

First and foremost, I am here to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. My role is to provide every student, parent and community member with the necessary support to meet their social and/ or emotional needs. Whether your child is navigating new friendships, facing academic challenges, or simply in need of someone to talk to, my door is always open.

My Role as a School Counselor:

As the school counselor, my role encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at fostering the well-being and success of our fifth and sixth graders:

Individual and Group Counseling: I provide a confidential and safe space for students to discuss their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Additionally, small group sessions are routinely developed on various topics related to our unique age group of students. I focus on working to create a comfortable, encouraging environment for students to succeed in all capacities.

Parent Collaboration: I am here to support you as well. Feel free to reach out to discuss any concerns you may have or to seek advice on how to best support your child's development in the educational setting.

Crisis Intervention: In times of crisis, I am here to provide immediate support and connect families with appropriate resources when needed.

Collaboration with Staff: I work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Promotion of Character Development: As a National School of Character, our faculty and staff promote opportunities for all students to understand and demonstrate appropriate character in all aspects of their lives. Especially, we focus on the development of student character across nine main traits: respect, accountability, motivation, self- esteem, trust, responsibility, optimism, perseverance, and gratitude.

Ways to Stay Connected:

Communication is key to a successful partnership between home and school. Throughout the year, I will be sending out informational messages and providing resources on various topics related to your child's growth and development. Please make sure to check the schoolwide weekly communication message and the school’s Class Dojo Site.

Your Involvement Matters:

Your involvement and support are invaluable to your child's success. We encourage you to engage in open conversations with your child about their school experiences, attend school events, and participate in parent-teacher conferences.

I look forward to assisting each of our students reach their full potential as we embark on this exciting journey together. If you have any questions, concerns, or simply want to introduce yourself, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's work together to make this school year memorable, fulfilling, and enriching for our students!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lauren Roberts

Beginning of the Year Assemblies

On Wednesday, students at Caroline L. Reutter School participated in engaging grade-level assemblies led by School Principal, Mr. Peters, and School Counselor, Mrs. Roberts. The informative sessions provided students with an overview of the school year ahead, explaining academic and social expectations, as well as essential school safety procedures to ensure a secure learning environment. In addition to reviewing these important operational guidelines, Mr. Peters and Mrs. Roberts highlighted the many activities and opportunities students can look forward to as they navigate the school year together.

CLR PTO Scholastic Book Fair

The Reutter PTO would like to welcome you back to school. We have a lot of activities planned for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. We are busy gearing up for our school year by forming various committees to manage PTO-sponsored programs.

Parents are encouraged to actively participate in our school’s PTO through attending meetings and events.

Please join us for our first PTO meeting of the year on Thursday, September 10 immediately after the Back to School Night in the Reutter School cafeteria.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held from September 8-11 during your child’s regularly scheduled music class time.

Here’s how the Book Fair works: During the week, each child visits the Book Fair with their class to make purchases. We have books for all ages, including adults! You will be happily surprised at the varied selection and reasonable prices.

Again, we invite you to come visit our Book Fair. Your children will be glad you did — and so will you!

Thank you for your support!

Realtime Parent Portal

Stay informed about your child’s education through the Realtime Parent Portal. Each parent will receive a copy of the parent portal letter in the school’s late August mailing which includes detailed instructions on how to log into the Parent Portal. Through the Parent Portal, you will be able access your child’s schedule, view lunch account information, and add cafeteria funds among many other features.

The Realtime Parent Portal App is also available for all parents (Android and Apple Devices). Through the app, parents are able to easily obtain up to the minute student information, and district communications, with the everyday ease of this mobile application.

If you have any additional questions pertaining to the Parent Portal, please contact the Reutter School main office at 856-694-0223 or email Mrs. Gereaghty at mgereaghty@franklintwpschools.org.
