College and Career Information Night for Parents of 11th graders
On Wednesday, March 18th, parents of 11th grade students were invited to an information event to learn more about supporting their rising senior with post-secondary planning. If you were unable to attend this event, please take a look at the powerpoint presentation below. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your child's counselor.
Resource!
This book was given as a raffle at the parent night. We wanted to share the information with you in case you would like to purchase it as a resource when navigating the college process.
CCBC Information
Current seniors planning to attend CCBC in the fall
We held an INSTANT ADMISSIONS session for all graduating seniors planning to attend CCBC in the fall on Monday, March 23rd during enrichment. If your student was unable to attend during that time, please encourage them to see Mrs. Kovack to get help with next steps for beginning at CCBC- kkovack@bcps.org
Junior Registration Session for Fall on location CCBC classes
If your child is going to be a senior and plans to have periods 4AB free on their schedule, they may consider registering for the fall on-location CCBC class. We will be offering Fundamentals of Communications. Students may have expressed interest with their counselor during registration. This DOES NOT register them for the class. A meeting was held on Monday, April 20th during enrichment where students received information about how to register for this class. If your student could not attend this meeting, please have them reach out to Ms. Kovack for more information.
Information for Seniors
Decision Day Event!
We are hosting a Decision Day event for our seniors during the school day on May 1st during enrichment. This is a fun time for our seniors to celebrate all the decisions they have made for their post-secondary plans. We will have donuts and take a senior class photo. Seniors should be sure to wear their senior t-shirt. *Please note this is just for students and not a parent event. Also, if you are a senior who only attends on A-days, you are still welcome to join for this event!
Final Transcripts
All seniors who are going to 4-year or 2-year institutions must inform the counselors which college they are attending in order for their final transcript to be sent. Students will be able to do this by completing the "Senior Survey." This can be done in Xello and is listed under "Surveys."

Good news!
Please join us in congratulating Brayden Carlstrom and Ana Laura Tosi who have been selected as 2026 Carson Scholars. The Carson Scholars Fund recognizes students across the country who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to serving others. This year’s selection process was extremely competitive, and these students were chosen as part of the largest class of Carson Scholars in the program’s 30-year history. As Carson Scholars, they will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship, which will be invested for them until they attend college, along with a Carson Scholars medal and certificate. They will also be honored at the 30th Annual Maryland Carson Scholars Awards Banquet this May. Congratulations again to Brayden and Ana Laura for this outstanding achievement!
