Quantum Family Connection
Week of March 3, 2025
Hello Quantum Families,
We are now onto the last third of the 24-25 school year! This trimester is filled with milestones such as Promotion June 10th, field trips, end of the year activities, Glow Dance for 5th-8th graders, testing, Genius Hour, Expo and our 10 Year Celebration, and lots of friends and memories! Check out the Upcoming Events section at the bottom of this newsletter for these dates and mark your calendar!
Trimester 2 ended on Friday and today we start Trimester 3. On Friday March 7th, report cards will be mailed home for grades 6-8 and report cards will be sent home in backpacks for 4th and 5th grade. Report cards are a great opportunity to talk with your student about their accomplishments this Trimester and where they still need to grow. Celebrate their successes and make a plan for continued achievement. Reach out to your Quark’s teachers if you have any questions or concerns.
Please join me in celebrating and thanking Mr. Flores for all his work to support our Quantum community! Thank you for always being an empathic, positive leader on campus!
Happy National Social Worker Week!
State Testing
Because CAASPP tests are given statewide, they provide an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards. Given online, the tests are computer-adaptive, allowing a more precise measurement of individual skills. Parents can use their student’s ELA or mathematics results as one of many indicators of their child’s performance. Scores will be mailed to all student’s home addresses in the summer. Our staff uses these results to inform our grade level instruction and also to compare our school's performance toward achieving our state standards.
I will provide more information regarding these tests and schedules in the future, but I wanted to give you the dates for testing so you can avoid planning appointments and/or trips during this time. Testing is scheduled for Thursday, April 24th through Friday, May 9th. Thank you in advance for helping ensure all students attend school on time during this testing window. All students will also be taking the Spring iReady Diagnostic 3 test May 19th-June 6th. This test provides excellent data on how students have grown towards grade level standards this year and families will be able to see results within weeks of testing.
