Principal Message

Explorer Families,

I am excited to welcome you back for another amazing year at Donald Eismann Elementary! I hope you and your family had a relaxing, fun-filled summer and were able to make wonderful memories together.

This year, we're setting out on a new adventure together! At Donald Eismann, Explorers are thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners. We inspire one another to be brave, stay curious, and make the most of every opportunity to learn and grow. Every day is a chance to discover something new, strengthen our community, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Our incredible staff is ready to make this our best year yet! We are committed to creating a school where every child feels welcomed, encouraged, and excited to learn each day. Together, we'll inspire students to take risks, celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and discover just how much they are capable of achieving. By working hand in hand with our families, we'll help every Explorer grow in confidence, build meaningful connections, and reach new heights throughout the year.

I look forward to partnering with you throughout the year as we encourage our students to explore, discover, and achieve great things. Thank you for entrusting us with your children each day. We can't wait to welcome our Explorers back and begin another fantastic school year together!

We loved seeing everyone at back to school night!

Sincerely,

Sarah Thompson

Principal

Updated Office Hours

To ensure a safe, smooth, and organized dismissal process for all students, the Main Office will be closed daily from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM starting September 1, 2026.

During this 30-minute window, our office staff will ensure that student dismissal information is accurate and up to date. Because of this, we will not be able to accommodate last-minute dismissal changes or early student check-outs after 3:15 PM.

If you need to change your child's normal dismissal routine, please notify the main office before 3:00 PM on the day of the change.

Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and partnership in keeping our students safe during the busiest part of the school day.

  • Enter: Turn in from Canyon View Blvd at the designated main entrance

  • Follow arrows: Keep to the one-way loop through campus

  • Parking & walking: If you plan to walk your child to the door, park in the designated New Pickup & Dropoff Parking Lot rather than stopping in the drop-off lane

  • Exit: Follow pavement markings and exit back onto Canyon View Blvd at the designated spot — right turn only

Walking route

For students walking or biking to school, please review the highlighted orange path on the map:

  • Follow the orange path: All walkers/bikers must stay on the designated path

  • Avoid construction zone: As the turf field remains under construction, do not enter or cross through the fenced area

  • Gate status: Open for arrival and dismissal only

  • Student entrance/exit: Follow the path around the building to the main student entrance/exit marked with the star

Safety reminders

Arrival and dismissal are always extra busy during the first few days. Help us keep every student safe by remembering to:

  • Drive slow and stay alert across all areas of campus

  • Use designated crosswalks when walking across traffic lanes

  • Stay on designated pedestrian paths and avoid construction areas

  • Do not let students cross the parking lot without an adult.

  • Follow directions from staff

  • Give yourself a few extra minutes in your morning routine during the first week

Dismissal

Silent Dismissal is an end of day dismissal system that will continue to be in effect when we return to school. This program will allow the school the ability to dismiss students from inside the classroom, as their parent/guardian arrives for pick up. This greatly reduces the number of students in a designated area, while increasing safety and accountability. It is a secure system and we are very excited to continue using it.

Here’s how it works:

Parents/Guardians will be provided with 'parent car tags' to be placed on the passenger side dashboard. Each tag will have a code, unique to your family, including all students within that family. When families arrive for pick up (via car or on foot), a staff member will enter the number located on your tag. Notification of pick up will then appear in your child’s classroom, letting your student(s) know they are dismissed to go to the designated pick up area.

Here are the basic procedures for silent dismissal:

  1. Parent/guardian arrives on campus

  2. Student/Family tag number is entered by staff into a mobile device.

  3. Server processes information & routes to classroom(s) to notify student(s).

  4. Student sees name projected /teacher notifies student of dismissal

  5. Student leaves the classroom for the designated pick up zone.

  6. Student leaves with the parent/guardian.

Important points to remember:

  • Please have your pick up tag with you every day. If your child is going home with a different person or car, please make sure that you have notified the office and that the other person picking up has the pick up tag. If you need additional tags please notify the main office.

  • Your student will receive a tag that will be attached to their backpack on the first day of school. This tag will be used everyday for dismissal to scan students out.

  • If a car comes through the dismissal line or a parent arrives for in-person pick up without the tag, the driver will be obligated to park and wait until dismissal has ended. At the end of dismissal, school personnel will check identification and verify Skyward permissions to manually release the student from the classroom. There will be no exceptions (even if you know your number).

  • All dismissal changes must be reported to the office by 3:00 pm.

  • Please do not arrive on campus prior to 3:30 pm. Arriving earlier than 3:30 pm creates a safety hazard blocking access to emergency personnel.

  • Please understand this program was purchased with the safety of our children in mind. It is imperative we are all on the same page and adhere to these dismissal procedures.

Pick Up Number

  • All families will receive a pick up number even if you child rides the bus. The pick up number is only used for pick up and not for bus riders. Families that have multiple students will have the same pick up number for all of their children.
  • If you are planning to pick your child up on a regular basis, please place your pick up number in the front window on the passenger side. This number quickly allows our staff to tell which child is being picked up and helps maintain safety.

Having more families carpool, walk, or have their children ride the bus will reduce the number of cars entering campus, which should allow the buses to enter campus sooner, load sooner, and leave sooner. We appreciate your patience and support.
