Big congratulations to the NLRHS Charging Wildcats Special Olympics basketball team!

The team brought home 1st place at State, and it was well-earned. Every player showed incredible determination, teamwork, and focus from start to finish. Their hard work and dedication truly paid off on the court.

We are so proud of these athletes for representing with heart, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Way to go, Wildcats—you are champions in every sense!

North Little Rock High School Theatre Dance students will host their 23rd annual Preschool/Elementary Dance Workshop on Saturday, April 25th from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM in the North Little Rock High School Performing Arts Center. Sixty local preschool and elementary students have the opportunity to take part in the dance workshop. Each participant is assigned to an NLRHS dance student who remains with their “little friend” throughout the entire workshop. The elementary students are taught a dance that allows them to be featured in the spring dance concert. The NLRHS Dance Program is a gateway for these young students to become involved in the arts at an early age.

The preschool/elementary students are not the only students benefiting from this program. The high school Dance Troupe and Dance III/IV students enjoy the challenge of temporarily changing roles and becoming teachers and mentors to the younger artists. They choreograph and teach the original dances to the preschool/elementary dancers. It is a wonderful learning experience for all those involved in the workshop.

The North Little Rock High School Theatre Arts Department will present its spring dance concert on Thursday, April 30th at 6:30 PM featuring performances by the NLRHS Dance Troupe, Theatre Dance I-IV classes, and participants from the NLRHS Preschool/Elementary Dance Workshop in the new North Little Rock High School Performing Arts Center (201 West 22nd, NLR). Tickets are $6 for students/seniors and $8 for adults.

The workshop is $40 and includes quality dance instruction, snacks, t-shirt (to be worn in the dance concert), rehearsal notes, music, supplies for activities during the dance concert.

Registration forms/fee due no later than April 3rd. Email completed registration forms or questions to Christen Pitts at pittsch@nlrsd.org.

Only the first 60 (30 in each age group are accepted).

NLR 6 Academy of Agricultural & Veterinary Sciences, formerly Seventh Street Elementary School, recently celebrated its annual Agriculture Day. A host of experts from different sectors in agriculture showed up to give students hands-on learning experiences related to that career field.
