Superintendent's Message
Dear Frankfort 157-C Families,
As Superintendent, I am continually reminded that strong school districts are built through strong community partnerships. We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside dedicated local leaders who invest their time, expertise, and care into the growth and development of our students.
We are especially grateful for our partnership with the Village of Frankfort. On Monday, March 2nd, some HCMS students will participate in Student Government Day, where village leaders generously open their doors to teach our students about their roles, responsibilities, and the work involved in leading a community. Students have the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions about leadership and civic responsibility, and the day culminates with our student government members conducting a mock Village meeting of their own. Experiences like this bring classroom learning to life and inspire future leaders.
We also deeply appreciate our continued relationship with the Frankfort Police Department. Through this strong partnership, we have been able to continue our School Resource Officer program in our schools and implement various safety enhancements across the district. Our SRO builds positive relationships with students, teaches important lessons, maintains a strong and visible presence in our buildings, and serves as a valuable resource to both students and staff. Their collaboration and support are vital to maintaining safe and supportive learning environments.
In addition, the Frankfort Fire Protection District continues to provide meaningful educational experiences for our students. Just this past week, members of the Fire Protection District visited Grand Prairie Elementary to teach important home safety tips to our youngest learners. These proactive lessons help reinforce safety awareness in ways that are age-appropriate, engaging, and impactful.
We are proud to be part of a community where our local leaders are actively involved in supporting the growth, safety, and development of our children. Frankfort 157-C is stronger because of these partnerships, and we are sincerely appreciative of all that our community does to support our students and schools.
Sincerely,
Doug Wernet, Ed.D.
Frankfort School District 157-C Superintendent

- ISBE requires 20% parent participation in order to provide feedback. Our district has not yet reached that threshold.
- The survey is completely anonymous.
- It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Virtual Backpack
Frankfort School District 157-C utilizes a more environmentally friendly and efficient method for sharing information. Flyers, posters, and media from district schools, non-profit organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and approved business partners are available on our "Virtual Backpack" webpage. This approach replaces the traditional practice of sending materials home via students' backpack mail, ensuring easier access and reduced paper waste.
