It's Fall, Y'all!
BRSD Career Counselling September 2026
By this time my blood type is pumpkin spice...☕️
“It’s the first day of autumn! A time of hot chocolatey mornings, and toasty marshmallow evenings, and, best of all, leaping into leaves!” — Winnie the Pooh
It's great to be back! We hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable summer break. Our team will support career counselling and off campus for all students. Mrs. Gjesdal will support Bawlf, Daysland, Viking and Sedgewick. Mrs. Kruchten will continue to be at ECCHS, as well as Forestburg and Bashaw. Mrs. Osness will support ECCHS and New Norway. We have also added a new member to our team! Mrs. Sharp will support Tofield, Hay Lakes, and BRACE.
Our booking calendars are available in all our HS+ Plus Google Classroom - be sure to reach out if you don't have the code, or look for the posters around your school. We all look forward to connecting with our high school students!
Happy fall! 🌰 🍂
CAREER COUNSELLORS are also OFF CAMPUS COORDINATORS
Assigned career counsellors will also support their schools as off campus coordinators. If a student has a current work placement already, or is planning to take work experience, RAP or Green Certificate they should contact their school career counsellor for further instruction.
**STUDENTS CANNOT START A NEW PLACEMENT WITHOUT HAVING HCS 3000 & AN APPROVED WORK SITE**
Get your ALBERTA.CA account ready!
Most institutions are open for Fall 2027 applications starting October 1, 2026, but some may already be open, so check the individual institutions sites for details.
If you are applying for a competitive program, you should attend the ApplyAlberta sessions that we offer at your high school. Please listen to announcements for those dates & times. You will need an Alberta.ca account, so please set that up on your own before you come to apply.
Programs like registered nursing and the health sciences at NAIT & SAIT fill up FAST so be sure to apply early.
Alberta.ca
Set up a BASIC or VERIFIED Alberta.ca account BEFORE you come to the session. The basic allows you to apply and the verified allows you to apply for student loans later.
ApplyAlberta
ApplyAlberta sessions will be offered at each school. Students should listen to school announcements for dates and further details. Here are tips below if you miss a session.
