Seedling Packet Information
- 50 pitch pine (Pinus rigida) seedlings: Native, short-needled evergreen known for its irregular, gnarled shape. Grows in a variety of conditions, but does really well in sandy, and poor (low-nutrient) soils. Prefers full sun and can reach up to 90 feet at maturity. Each seedling needs about 6 feet of growing space.
- 50 red oak (Quercus rubra) seedlings: Native hardwood. Grows best in well-drained soils and prefers full sun. Also grows well in upland sites. Reaches 60-80 feet at maturity. Each seedling needs about 10 feet of growing space.
- 50 silky dogwood (Cornus amomum) seedlings: Native shrub. Adaptable from full sun to full shade but prefers partial sun. It needs moist soils, so it is great for wet areas and streamside plantings. Reaches 8 feet on average at maturity. Each seedling needs about 10 feet of growing space.
