Dear Brahma Family,

If you didn’t make it to see our Drama Department’s staging of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" last week, I hope you can make it to "Into the Woods" this week. Performances take place on Thursday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. It's truly remarkable that we have such strong student interest in performing in our Fall play, and we're grateful that our director, Mr. Kaitz, was able to coordinate the casting and staging of two distinct shows—a play and a musical.

During Saturday’s performance of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", I received word that out in San Pedro, our volleyball team defeated their second-round CIF playoff opponents and advanced to the quarterfinals. Their next opponent is the team from Rancho Christian School in Temecula. The quarterfinal match will take place in Temecula, this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Congratulations also go out to our Golf Team, which secured five of the Hacienda League's spots to compete in the first round of the CIF Individual Golf Championships.

And finally, in case you missed it, a near capacity crowd watched as our football team led for the entire game and retained the Branding Iron. If you would like to see the branding iron trophy, it will be once again be hanging in our front office. Our football team’s regular season finale is this Friday night against Ontario, and it will also be Senior Night.

Hello parents and guardians!

Our next English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting is on Monday, October 23, from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. At the meeting, we will nominate our District English Learner Advisor Committee (DELAC) representative and discuss updates for our English Learner program.

The DELAC representative meets with other parents at the district office and helps contribute to the district plan for English learners. This representative also gets updates from the district office and relays these updates to our school’s ELAC members during our ELAC meetings. If you are interested in being the DELAC representative for DBHS, please email either Mrs. Cho or Dr. Dreyer by Friday, October 20. (Please see emails below.)
