IT Information

The office has a limited number of chargers to loan out. Please make sure your are charging your Chromebook every night. Make sure the light is on and your device is charging correctly.

If you submit a ticket or a teacher submits a ticket for you, you need to bring your Chromebook to the main office. IT can't do anything until they have your computer. IT will not contact you about your ticket until they have been given the device.

You need to make sure you are charging your Chromebook every night. Please make sure the charging light is lit. If it is not, your device is not charging. Red light means charging, blue light, fully charged. You need to also make sure you are turning your device off when you are not using it, this helps extend battery life and allows any updates.

If you have a Chromebook that is with IT, please make sure you are checking your email to see if the repairs are complete. This is how you will be notified when your Chromebook is ready for pickup.

Chromebook Damage

We are seeing an increase in deliberate damage to students Chromebooks. Please remember that the Chromebook is the property of the Windham School District. You should not be removing the rubber feet on the bottom of the Chromebook, removing the bezel around the keyboard, which causes the keys to fall off the keyboard or peeling the rubber trim. You should also not be putting stickers on the device or peeling off any of the identifying labels on the Chromebook. The Annual Chromebook Fee only covers up to a certain amount and you can be charged for the monetary value of these deliberate damages.

Bus Passes

You need to get a bus pass if you are taking a different bus home or getting off at a different bus stop. The bus drivers can refuse to let you on the bus without a pass. Please come to the office before the end of the day to get a pass.

REMINDERS

No cell phones during the school day--students can only use your cell phones before or after school. Cell phones should be kept in students' locked lockers and not on their person.

Wired headphones are a supply request-- students should not be using Airpods or wireless headphones throughout the school day.

Beginning in the 2025 school year, New Hampshire has enacted a statewide “bell-to-bell” ban on student cell phone use from the first instructional bell to dismissal, except in very limited cases.

Although this is a new statewide policy, the Windham School District already had a cell phone, smart watch, tablets, or personal laptop policy in place for students in grades K–8. For our students, this will not be a change. Cell phones are expected to remain off and stored in student lockers for the entire school day.

We ask parents and guardians to please remind your child of this expectation so we can continue supporting a focused, distraction-free learning environment.

Don't Be Late

Our school day starts at 7:30am. You need to be in homeroom, in your seat at 7:30am. You are considered tardy at 7:31am. If your parents do not notify the absence line, your tardy is unexcused. The absence line can be reached at 603-845-1556 or at wmsattendance@windhamsd.org. You may also enter your students late arrival in PickUp Patrol.

For students interested in attending the 8th Grade Philadelphia trip, students with 30 or more unexcused tardies or 10 or more unexcused absences, are unable to participate in the trip.

WMS SPRING TRYOUTS

All spring sports start in March. Any player wishing to try out must complete the registration process on Final Forms, which requires a parent and the student to participate. Signing up for Final Forms can be found by clicking the Final Forms link on the WMS athletics page. If your child is selected to participate on a team, a sports physical is required for them to participate further.

Below is the list of tryout dates and times. Students are only allowed to try out for one team per season. Athletes should attend all the tryouts.

Baseball (Time and Location TBD) ***Subject to Change***

***All athletes trying out should wear baseball pants and an athletic shirt. All athletes trying out should bring baseball cleats, sneakers (depending on the tryout location), and a water bottle. All players trying out for baseball should be prepared to go outside and should dress for the weather. The date of the cuts will be determined by the number of athletes who try out.

Softball (Time and Location TBD) ***Subject to Change***

Tryout dates, times, and locations will be determined once local golf courses are approved for use. Practices are expected to take place after school, primarily Monday through Thursday, with an occasional Friday practice as needed. All interested athletes should plan to be available during this window. Proper golf attire is required for tryouts, including a collared shirt and golf pants or shorts. Attendance at all tryout sessions is expected, as this time will be used to evaluate skills, effort, and readiness. Final team placement and match participation will be determined by the coach based on these factors.

Track (Location TBD) ***Subject to Change***

Track will begin the week of Monday, April 6th.

Athletes should bring shorts, pants, an athletic shirt, sneakers, and water to practice. Track is not a try-out sport. All athletes who come out to practice make the team. Any student who tries out for another team but does not make that team can join the track team until TBD. The team and practices are open to all student-athletes. Student-athletes are not required to attend meets. Practices are Monday-Thursday from 2:45-4:00 during the season unless the team has a meet.

*Please note that not all athletes will qualify for or be able to attend a meet. The top 6 qualifying runners and throwers in each event will be assigned to events first, then spaces will be opened to non-qualifying athletes.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail Mr. Moyer at kmoyer@windhamsd.org or go to the WMS Athletics page at https://windhamsdwms.ss18.sharpschool.com/about_wms/athletics/general_information
