Dear Parents and Carers,

This week our staff took part in a Stammering Workshop to strengthen the support we offer to some of our young people. It was a valuable opportunity to develop strategies that help build confidence and ensure every child has a voice that is heard and respected.

Looking ahead, we have a Peer Review on Maths next week with leaders from other Yorkshire Learning Trust schools. This will be a great chance to share good practice, reflect on our provision, and continue to raise standards in this key area of learning.

On Tuesday, staff will also engage in Spirituality Training with Katherine Starkie from the York Diocese. This training will help us reflect on how we deliver a curriculum that nurtures the whole child—academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Throughout October, we are celebrating Black History Month with the theme of Belonging. This important focus will be explored across school life, with our Thrive Approach sessions reinforcing the message and helping children think about inclusion, identity, and respect.

As always, thank you for your continued support in helping us create a caring and ambitious school community.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Mel Walmsley
