Newsletter 3
We had an outstanding first two days of school! Our students have done a wonderful job learning routines, building relationships, and getting the school year off to a fantastic start. Thank you for your partnership and support as we begin what is sure to be an amazing year in the Dawg House!
At this time, we are no longer approving additional requests for students to become afternoon walkers. Any student who has not already been approved as a walker must continue to use their established afternoon transportation plan.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support. We look forward to an incredible school year as we continue Building Outstanding Leaders Daily!
Morning Arrival Reminder
For the safety of all students, please remember that students may not be dropped off in the parking lot during morning arrival. All students must be dropped off through the designated car line unless prior approval has been given by a school administrator.
Thank you for helping us keep morning arrival safe and efficient for everyone. We appreciate your cooperation and support!

Character Education Word of the Week: BOLD
As we begin our first full week of school, Bass Middle School is proud to focus on what it truly means to be Bulldog BOLD—Building Outstanding Leaders Daily. Throughout the week, students will learn how being Brave, Optimistic, Leaders, and Determined helps create a safe, respectful, and welcoming school for everyone. Whether it's making responsible choices, encouraging classmates, following school expectations, or demonstrating perseverance, every student has the opportunity to make a positive impact. At Bass Middle School, being BOLD is more than our motto—it's the standard by which we lead, learn, and care for one another each day. Together, we're building a school culture where every Bulldog feels safe, valued, and inspired to succeed.
Attendance Matters!
Every school day matters. Regular attendance helps students build strong academic habits, stay connected to classroom learning, and develop meaningful relationships with their teachers and classmates. While we understand that appointments and family trips are sometimes unavoidable, we encourage families to plan them during scheduled school breaks whenever possible. By maximizing time in the classroom, we give every Bulldog the best opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. At Bass Middle School, Every Day Counts because every day is another chance to be Bulldog BOLD.
Communication is Key!

Backpack Buddies
Backpack Buddies is a non-profit organization that provides a little extra food on the weekend for students in Coweta County. Backpack Buddies supplies students with nutritious, self-serve food that will sustain them when school meals are not available. Four times a year, when students are out for longer school breaks, Backpack Buddies sends home a larger bag of food to help them during that extended break from school.
The Backpack Buddies program is essential to help relieve hunger, which in turn will improve grades, health, school attendance and self-esteem in these children. If you are interested in signing your student up for the Backpack Buddies program, fill out the attached form and sign giving Backpack Buddies permission to send food home every Friday with your student.

Car Information
Car Arrival (different than dismissal)
Students may arrive to school no earlier than 7:30am. Vehicles should use two lanes to drop students off in the morning. If you are using the far lane (away from sidewalk), your student must walk up the center lane to the adult at the crossing in the middle to wait until all cars have been stopped. They may NOT cross over a lane of traffic without an adult stopping all traffic first.
Bus Information
Bus Transportation Information
Bus Notes
If a student needs to take a different bus or get off at a stop that is not their assigned stop due to childcare needs, the student must bring a note with the requested changes that has been signed by a parent or guardian. The student must give the note to Kristina Landkamer in the attendance office when the student arrives at school. After confirming the request, Ms. Landkamer will give the note back to the student who will give the note to the driver to board the bus at dismissal.
Afternoon Bus Dismissal:
Afternoon bus dismissal procedures: Bus numbers are called out over the intercom as the bus arrives to the school. Students are dismissed to the bus zone when they hear their bus number. Once we have our bus line up, we will share the LIVE spreadsheet with you so you are able to see when your student's bus number has been called and any changes that may have been made. Bus numbers will be highlighted on the spreadsheet as they are called out. The link to the spreadsheet on the BMS website and posted below for your convenience. This is NOT the same as Bus Bulletin.
Bus route information will be shared at Open House and is available on the CCSS Transportation website.. Additional information will be in the July 28th newsletter as well.
Transportation Change Requests
Please use the form below to request a transportation change for your student. All requests MUST be made by 3:00 pm on the date requested. We ask that you limit transportation changes to emergency situations only. All students should know how they are getting home each day before they arrive to school.
Please keep changes to emergency situations only.

6th Grade Chromebook Distribution - Friday, Aug. 14th
It’s time to issue our 6th graders their new Lenovo Chromebooks. Just like last year, each new Chromebook comes with a Gumdrop case, and students must leave the school-issued case on the device at all times. Students should have their current Chromebook in its case and a charger ready to turn in on Thursday. CCSS students are only issued one Chromebook with a case and one charger. If a student loses the cover or charger, then he or she must purchase a new one. The county does not provide replacement covers or chargers; however, replacement covers and chargers may be purchased from Amazon. Students who are missing a cover or charger or who have a damaged Chromebook will receive a letter explaining the charges for missing/damaged items. All fees are entered in Infinite Campus. Click on the Chromebook icon to watch a video on care instructions and expectations for devices. Please email me at Jennifer Doonan with any additional questions. Thank you for your help!
