Excitement is in the Air!
Welcome Back, Coupeville Families,
The countdown is on. Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 8, and we are already getting buildings ready for your students. Staff return at the end of this month, classrooms are being set up, and there is a real sense of excitement building across the district. We cannot wait to see our students walk through the doors.
Please Note: Our Start Times Have Changed
This is the most important item in this newsletter, so please read it carefully and share it with anyone who helps get your student to school.
Beginning September 8:
- Coupeville Middle School and Coupeville High School start at 7:50 a.m. and dismiss at 2:20 p.m.
- Coupeville Elementary School starts at 9:10 a.m. and dismisses at 3:40 p.m.
These times are different from last year. Bus routes and pick-up and drop-off patterns will follow the new schedule, so please build in extra time during the first week while everyone adjusts. If your family has students at more than one level, plan now for how the new times will work for your morning and afternoon routines.
A Few Reminders as You Get Ready
Update your contact information. Phone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contacts change over the summer. Accurate information is how we reach you quickly when it matters.
Check immunization records. Washington state requires immunization or exemption paperwork to be on file before your student attends. If you are unsure of your student's status, contact your school office now rather than during the first week.
Review transportation plans. Confirm your bus stop and time with our transportation office, and make sure your student knows the plan for both morning and afternoon.
Set up meal accounts. Getting balances loaded and applications submitted ahead of time keeps our lunch lines moving and takes one worry off your student's mind.
Start shifting sleep schedules. With our new start times, the first bell may come earlier than your family is used to. Moving bedtimes and wake-up times gradually over the next few weeks makes that first Tuesday much easier.
Watch for building communication. Each school will send information about supply lists, open house, schedule pick-up, and first-day procedures. Please read those messages closely, as details vary by building.
Looking Ahead
Our staff is coming back with real energy this year, and our focus is on the students in front of us. We want every child in Coupeville to walk in on September 8 and feel welcomed, known, and expected to do well. Families are our partners in that. Thank you for the trust you place in us and for the ways you support your students every day.
If you have questions before school starts, please reach out to your school office. We are here and happy to help.
Here is to a wonderful year.

Welcome New Leadership
Transportation News
Dear Coupeville Families,
I want to give you a heads-up about our change to an updated version of the app you use to register for transportation and track your student’s school bus. This summer, our software company listened to suggestions and requests made by users and worked hard to put together a new app called EZ Arrival.
What this means for you:
It combines many of the different features of our previous apps, Bus Quest and EZ A2B, into one streamlined tool.
EZ Arrival still continues to provide real-time bus tracking as before and now provides enhanced proactive parent notifications, added a broad foreign language support, and many other upgraded features.
Best of all, your existing account and settings will work automatically in EZ Arrival; no new registration or additional setup required!
The transition is simple — same login, same password, no re-registration.
Important Notice to Families:
All students who wish to ride a school bus to or from school are required to register for services. Due to the large number of changes to the routes this year, no previous year riders have been rolled over for the coming year. You can register via the EZ Arrival app, visit the Transportation Department page of the District website, or contact the Transportation Department Dispatcher directly.
We have limited space on buses so students needing services must have a regular riding schedule of at least 1-2 times every 2 weeks.
You can find additional information regarding all transportation related services on the newly updated Transportation Department page of the district website.
To download EZ Arrival:
Write down your current login information, if you have one, and then uninstall previous versions of Bus Quest or EZ A2B.
Next search for and download “EZArrival” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Log in with your current EZ A2B username and password — same login, no new account needed.
If you need to create a new account simply follow the few quick steps once you click on the “Create an Account” in the app.
