Online safety for Students: we wanted to help you be aware of the potential risks associated with any online platform their children use, including games like Fortnite and Roblox. Both games have millions of users, which unfortunately can attract individuals with malicious intent.

Educating children about online safety, setting boundaries, and monitoring their interactions can go a long way in minimizing risks. Additionally, regularly reviewing and reviewing with your child what to do if they encounter anything inappropriate or suspicious are important steps in fostering a safe online environment. It is essential to protect our children from predators that can be found in the chat rooms of Roblox and Fortnite.

Homework Reminder: I want to take this opportunity to encourage all parents to continue supporting their children with their homework. Your involvement in your child's education plays a crucial role in their academic success. By working together, we can ensure that our students are reaching their full potential.

Parental Involvement: Research consistently shows that students perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education. I am proud to share that our school has seen a significant increase in parental engagement over the past year. Let's keep up this positive momentum as we work together to support our children's learning journey.

Summer School Update: I must inform you that there will not be summer school offered this year for attendance recovery. Therefore, it is imperative that your student attend school on time each and every day unless they are sick.

We appreciate all of your support. Have a blessed week!

Edison Volunteer of the Year - Amberlee Murphree!

It's volunteer appreciation week! At the GISD Volunteer Appreciation luncheon on Tuesday, Amberlee was recognized as our Edison Volunteer of the Year!

Amberlee is our PTO president and she does an outstanding job. Our teachers are well take care because of our PTO. They go around with the treat cart, paid for our Christmas dinner, they paid for us to have a very fun team building day, and for many other teacher incentives. Amberlee is always open to helping out our campus in any way. She is also very kind and easy to get along with.

Through her positive impact on the staff, Amberlee has had an indirect yet positive impact on our students.
