What's Happening at the Donald Library?
Donald Library Poison Garden
1. Read or listen to Millie Fleur’s Poison Garden by Christy Mandin.
2. Make your own ‘wonderfully weird’ flower or plant at home to add to the Donald Library Poison Garden! Be creative! No real flowers or plants! Use paper, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, straws, tissue paper, etc.
3. Discuss these questions with a family member while creating your own poison garden flower or plant.
a. Sometimes, we meet people who are different from us. Just like Millie Fleur’s garden, their differences might seem unusual at first, but that’s what makes them special! How can you show
kindness to someone who has a different interest, looks different, or acts differently than you?
b. What is something that makes you different from others?
c. How does this unique trait make you special?
4. Bring your flower or plant to Ms. Hoffman in the Library any time during the month of October! Have fun!
Stumpkin Estimating
Guess how many stumpkins are filling up the pumpkin! One winner from each grade level will receive a book token for guessing correctly. Listen to the story here!
I Want To Be In A Scary Story
Write and draw the monster in a scary story of your own! Stories will be hung in the library. 🙂 Listen to the story here!

More about STEAM Storytime
Designed to blend fact with story, this is a high-energy & fun STEAM-focused storytime designed for 5-9 year-olds.
