Greetings Rincon Community,

I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who participated in our conferences this past week. Your engagement and partnership are vital to our learners' success, and it was wonderful to connect with so many of you. Together, we can build a strong support system that fosters learning and growth.

We also were happy to spice this up on Thursday by fueling our amazing teachers during this very important time for home and school connection meetings. Our admin team rolled out the mobile coffee & donuts carts and a huge shout-out to the PTSA for hosting a delightful teacher lunch— together we work hard to take care of our educators because they take exceptional care of our learners!

As we continue to partner with community organizations, we were happy to host the W.O.W. Bus for the first time at Rincon. The Live Well on Wheels (WoW) buses provides San Diego County resident access to a variety of FREE health and community services - on the go! Services Offered • Resources for Older Adults and Individuals with Disabilities Nutrition Education Fostering and Adoptive Services Child Development Support Mobile Pharmacy Services • Housing Support and Resources • Community Health Outreach • Military and Veterans Resources Public Benefits Assistance Voter Outreach and Education San Diego County Library Outreach Homelessness Support Services Vaccines Vector Control. If you missed it this time, we hope to have them out again later this year.

I also want to remind everyone of the importance of daily attendance and timely arrival at school. Consistent attendance and being on time are crucial for your child's success, as they help ensure that each student is fully engaged in their learning experience.

GATE Screening

GATE Screening: The Escondido Union School District is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in universal screening in November.

In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students to be GATE screened if they were not previously screened in grades 3 through 8. Parents can pick up a Parent Background and Input Form in the school’s front office and should return it to the school by Friday, October 24. A school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November.

For more information, please visit the EUSD GATE district website or stop by our school office.

Attendance to your school of residence ELAC meetings is of great value to families but most importantly the students. At our October meeting we will share some tips and valuable resources to families regarding the importance of home routines for students overall success along with i-redy; So please make sure to put our next ELAC meeting on your calendar.
