DEER RUN PTO NEWSLETTER

We had such a fun time last Friday at Leeds Farm!

Thank to everyone that came out to enjoy the fall weather with our Deer Run community!

A big thank you to our PTO Sunshine committee for coordinating and setting up dinner for our teachers and staff during fall Parent/Teacher conferences!

Harvest Parties are this Friday, October 31st from 2:30 - 3:15 PM.

Party volunteers should have been contacted by the room parents regarding party plans and should have up-to-date volunteer status.

Reminders - students are allowed to wear costumes on this day. Please note that students will wear their costumes for the day and will not be changing into costumes for the party. Please keep this in mind before determining a costume to wear to school. We want to ensure that students can navigate their school day comfortably. Students should wear costumes that are school appropriate and do not include play weapons of any kind.

IT'S OUR LAST CALL FOR SOCK-TOBER!! Deer Run will be collecting socks throughout the month of October for The Open Shelter and the 3rd & Goal Foundation! Send in pairs of new socks or ship directly to the addresses listed on the flyer, and share what you've shipped so it can be added to the school goal of 500 pairs of socks. Thank you for your donations!

Our fall Scholastic Book Fair will be November 5th-14th!

Family Shopping will be Wednesday, November 5th from 4:30-7:30pm.

This includes grandparents and other family members. Unfortunately we cannot allow last minute substitute volunteers in place of those signed up for parties if they have not completed the background check process. Thank you for your understanding. There is additional information on the background check process below, and please contact Mrs. Guthrie in the front office if you have any questions!

REMINDER: ALL parent/family members that wish to volunteer for the 2025-2026 school year will need to have a completed background check on file with the district. This will apply to classroom volunteers, PTO events, field trips and any other school event. This online process is quick, secure and free for applicants. Click button below to complete the process!

PLEASE NOTE: If any family member, other than a parent, is applying to volunteer please inform Carol Guthrie at guthrie_carol@dublinschools.net to ensure a timely approval!

CURRENT VOLUNTEERS: Be sure to double check the expiration date on your volunteer card. You cannot "renew" your card and instead must complete the background check process again before it expires. Thank you for attending to this well in advance of your volunteering date.

Are you willing to help the PTO on events throughout the year? "PTO Helping Hands" is a great way to get involved without making a long term commitment. If we are running short on volunteers for an event or have a small ask here or there, we will reach out to this list. Please sign up at the link below!

There are a number of after school classes available for our Deer Run students, including art, robotics, fashion, engineering, and drama - there is something for everyone! Visit this link for registration information!

Are you signed up for "Kroger Community Rewards"? With a few simple steps, you can link your Kroger Shop Card to Deer Run and a small donation will be made to our school every time you shop. It does not cost you anything and it does not pull from your rewards.

Follow these steps to sign up -

1. Sign in to your digital Kroger account on the app or your computer.
2. In the drop down on the left hand side, Find "Rewards", then select "Community Rewards". On the website, click on "My Account" under your name, and then select "Community Rewards".
3. Search for "Deer Run Elementary School", select, and click "Save". Your selected organization will now display in the Kroger Community Rewards section of your account.
