Semester 1 - The Final Stretch
We are entering the final weeks of Semester 1, with just 12 school days remaining before exams and the end of the semester. Semester grades are the official grades of record, determining credit earned, what appears on a student’s high school transcript, and GPA calculations.
Families are encouraged to regularly check Skyward to review current grades and identify any missing assignments or assessments. Students should also use Google Classroom to review notes, assignments, and upcoming expectations. Additional support is available through after-school tutoring, and students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities as needed.
As always, open communication is key—please reach out directly to teachers with any questions or concerns as we move into these final weeks.
Let’s finish strong, Warriors!

Attention Seniors! The local run Legacy Scholarships are now open and students are encouraged to apply. Please remember that these scholarships are primarily for Walled Lake Students, so you have a much better chance of securing some funding for your future plans.
Scholarship applications open on Monday, November 17, 2025 and the deadline to apply is Friday, January 9, 2026 unless otherwise noted.
Information can be found in the class of 2026 Google classroom as well as on the website: https://western.wlcsd.org/counseling/scholarships-and-financial-aid
In December, our counseling team has been meeting with 10th grade students to help them explore the connection between school, future careers, and their transition into adulthood. As part of this work, all 10th graders will attend an assembly on Thursday, December 18, featuring our partners from the Oakland Schools Technical Campus. Students will learn about the many Career Technical Education (CTE) programs available to support their growth, skill development, and preparation for life after high school.
We wish all of our families a wonderful winter break—may it be a time to relax and rejuvenate! Over the break, students are encouraged to catch up on any missing assignments and begin reviewing for Semester 1 final exams, which will take place shortly after we return in January.

Senior Cap & Gown Ordering Info
This year marks an exciting milestone for Walled Lake Western! The Class of 2026 will be the first ever to graduate wearing our brand-new, custom cap and gown design.
The updated look features a royal blue gown with a bold silver sleeve stripe, showcasing Warrior pride in a fresh and timeless way. Each senior will also receive a Western graduation medal with their cap & gown. This is another new addition that makes this year’s ceremony extra special.
Because this is a completely new custom design, gowns from past years cannot be reused. All seniors must order the new cap and gown to participate in commencement.
The Class of 2026 will truly be one to remember!
