THE BEAR ESSENTIALS
Week of January 19, 2026
Final Exam Week – A Message for Our RHS Bear Families
Next week is an important and exciting milestone for the RHS Bear family as students wrap up their learning and demonstrate all they have accomplished this semester through final exams. In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be no school on Monday, January 19. Final exams will take place from Tuesday through Friday. Please note that students will have half-days on Thursday, January 22, and Friday, January 23, with dismissal at 11:38 AM on both days.
Ways Parents Can Encourage and Support Students During Final Exam Week
-
Offer positive encouragement and remind your student how much they have learned and grown this semester.
-
Help your student plan short, manageable study sessions leading up to each exam.
-
Check Parent Connect to celebrate progress and identify any last items that need attention.
-
Encourage healthy habits such as getting enough sleep, eating well, and taking breaks to recharge.
-
Provide a calm and supportive space at home where your student can focus and feel confident.
-
Remind your student that it is okay to ask teachers questions and seek help if they need clarification.
-
Most importantly, reassure your student that effort and preparation matter, and doing their best is something to be proud of.
Final exams can feel stressful, but with encouragement, preparation, and support from home, students can approach the week with confidence and success. Thank you for partnering with us to help our students finish the semester strong!
Go Bears!

A message from Officer Cole:
Sometimes it feels like teens speak an entirely foreign language. The words, phrases, and emojis commonly used by teens can be confusing to those who do not spend significant time in online spaces. The following link provides helpful insight into this evolving digital language and can assist in increasing overall awareness and safety.
Are You Missing Something?
Our Lost & Found closet is overflowing with items! We have put all lost items on display in the main lobby for easy viewing. If you've misplaced something, we encourage you to stop by and see if we have it.
Please note, any items not picked up by the end of the day on Friday, January 23, will be donated to charity. Don’t miss your chance to reclaim your belongings!
Please Use Your Locker to Store Items
This is a reminder that all students are expected to utilize their lockers to store personal belongings during the school day. We have noticed that many students have been using the table in the front lobby for items such as coats and lunch. Effective immediately, this practice is no longer permitted. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school environment organized and welcoming for everyone.

A message from our Athletic Director
Hello Roosevelt High School Families,
We are providing you with free access to the CoreCourseGPA.com program, which now includes a one-of-a-kind recruiting profile for your use! The CoreCourseGPA.com 3 Step Recruiting Process is very easy to follow and use for your recruiting benefit.
Every semester counts! So, it is advantageous to begin using CoreCourseGPA.com as a freshman, or anytime in your HS career.
Just scan the attached QR code to set up your free membership. Be sure to save/write down the member name and password you create. You may then login to CoreCourseGPA.com by clicking the red Member Login button in the upper right corner.
- Next, follow the 3-Steps CoreCourseGPA.com has developed to help get you recruited:
- -Step 1: Use the CoreCourseGPA.com software to calculate and project your NCAA core GPA (it's different from your report card GPA)
- Step 2 - Set up your Recruiting Profile
- Step 3 - Use the CoreCourseGPA.com provided search engines to email college coaches directly.
It's that simple. Get started today!
IMPORTANT - The CoreCourseGPA.com program is NOT a substitute for having your athlete register with the NCAA and/or NAIA Eligibility Centers. CoreCourseGPA.com serves as a tool to prepare your athlete academically for the NCAA and/or NAIA eligibility process, in addition to providing recruiting resources to assist with your recruitment.
Sincerely,
Mike Schley
Athletic Director
We are reminding our Wyandotte Roosevelt Bear fans that we have an entirely cashless system for all sports event admissions through GoFan https://gofan.co/app/school/MI10074. This cashless ticketing effort is designed to significantly enhance the experience for our fans, improve operational efficiency, and increase security for everyone. By embracing this, we are aligning with much of the Downriver League, other area schools, schools around the State of Michigan, and the MHSAA. This also reflects the evolving preference of consumers, with many studies showing that many fans now expect and prefer digital payment options. We will accept all major credit and debit cards and will have card readers available at Roosevelt High School home events. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the gate using a mobile device or a credit/debit card. The best way to purchase tickets is to download the GoFan App to your phone. We also remind you that spectators 62 and over and 5 and under do not have to pay admission (this does not apply to tournaments or MHSAA events). We appreciate your cooperation and continued support in making cashless ticketing a success. We are confident that this will lead to a more efficient, secure and enjoyable experience for all spectators. Go Bears!
