Dear Newcomb Families,

We are so excited to kick off another wonderful school year together. At Newcomb PTSA, our mission is to support our students, teachers, staff, and families while creating meaningful experiences that foster growth, connection, and belonging.

From beloved community events to field trips, academic programs, classroom support, and creative opportunities, we look forward to another year of bringing our community together and creating lasting memories for our students. We believe it takes a village to help our children grow into incredible people, and we are grateful to have you as part of the Newcomb community.

Our Donor Drive is in full swing! Your donations directly support the programs and resources the Foundation funds for Newcomb students, including Art, Science Lab, Music, Middle School Drama, Literacy & Math Intervention, technology, campus support and more. Every donation, at any level, helps us continue bringing these programs to our students. See the Donor Drive flyer below for details on how to donate and this year’s donor levels.

Our first Foundation Board Meeting of the year is September 15 and is open to all adults in the Newcomb community. Come learn more about what we do, what we’re working on this year, and how you can get involved. See the flyer below for meeting details.

Support the Newcomb Academy Foundation’s Donor Drive! The Foundation has committed over $225,000 to literacy, math, art, music, science, technology, and enrichment programs for our students.

Reflections is a national PTA arts competition that invites students to create and submit original artwork inspired by an annual theme. Students can enter in categories such as visual arts, photography, literature, music composition, dance, and film with selected entries advancing to higher levels of competition.

This year the Reflections theme is "What My Culture Means to Me"

Join Newcomb’s Sankofa Village for a relaxed evening of art, music, pizza, and community on September 21! Families will create circle art inspired by artist Howardena Pindell- no artistic experience required!

Mark your calendars! On Friday, September 25th, we’re turning Newcomb Playground into an outdoor movie theater for a special showing of Inside Out 2!

The gates will open at 6:30 PM, and the movie will begin at sunset. This is a free event, open to all families—so grab your chairs and blankets, and get ready for a fun-filled evening under the stars.

We’ll have complimentary popcorn (while supplies last) and food available for purchase from local vendors, who will accept cash, Venmo, and Zelle. Please remember, for everyone’s safety and enjoyment, no scooters, bikes, skateboards, or pets will be allowed inside.

Come sing along, laugh, and enjoy the magic of Inside Out 2 with your friends and neighbors. We can’t wait to see you there!

Please fill out the VIPS application and submit the application along with TB test results to the school office. VIPS clearance takes approximately two weeks.
