Weekly K12 Zone Guide

🌟 School K12 Zones vs. National K12 Zones: What is the Difference? 🌟
In K12-powered schools, students may have access to School K12 Zones, National K12 Zones, or a mix of both—depending on what their school has chosen to offer. Here’s a quick guide:
🏫 School K12 Zones
-
Created and managed by individual schools.
-
Schools may offer zones for different grade bands: K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12.
-
No Learning Coach consent is required to access School Zones, since students are only interacting with classmates from their own school.
-
Important: Every school decides whether or not to offer School K12 Zones. Some schools may have multiple, one, or none.
🌎 National K12 Zones
-
Open to K12-powered students whose school has opted into the National Zones.
-
Divided by grade bands: K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12.
-
Parental Consent Required:
If your student is 12 years old or younger, you must complete a quick online consent form to allow access to the National Zones. (More information and link below!)
🧩 Every school is different.
-
Your student’s school could have:
✔️ School Zones only
✔️ National Zones only
✔️ Both School and National Zones
✔️ Or, in some cases, no Zones at all.
✅ To find out exactly what’s available for your student, please contact your school directly for the most up-to-date information.
Parental Consent Needed for National K12 Zone Access (Ages 12 & Under)
If your student is 12 or younger and wants to explore the National K12 Zone, parental consent is required.
✅ No consent is needed for School Zones, where students only interact with their own classmates.
How to Give Consent:
-
Visit consent.k12.com
-
Log in with your Legal Guardian credentials
-
Select your student(s) and follow the steps
