What's Happening in the Library
April/May 2026
Last Day for Book Checkouts!
We have loved helping your children develop a love for reading and the library. I encourage you to continue taking them to the public library over the summer. You will be surprised how many books they will be able to show you that they are familiar with!
Parent Training
Join us for our last Parent Training of the Year on Thursday, May 7th. Our Parent Trainings are a great way for you to get information in regards to Prosper ISD, education, technology, and community resources. Be sure to check your Ranger Report with times and registering to attend.
Last Family Night in May!
Join us Thursday, May 14th for an amazing children's music concert by Stephen Fite! Your child can dance and sing along as you enjoy an end of the year family celebration. More details to come.
Library Bag Information
Your child’s book should stay in their Library Book Bag when the book is not being read.
Books MUST be returned in the bag for a new book to be checked out and sent home.
If a bag is damaged please send it back to school so that we can reuse the label and repair or replace the bag. *DO NOT throw bags away.
Replacement bags will be $1.
Did You Get a Late Notice?
If you receive an email reminder about a late library book don't worry! These reminders are sent out automatically on Monday mornings for any books that have been out for 30 days or more. We don't collect fines at our Calhoun Library, so it's just to remind you that you have a book at home that needs to be returned. Thank you for helping us keep the books in circulation for the students and teachers!
Summer Reading Opportunities
Be sure to continue your child's love of learning and reading by visiting your public libraries this summer! All of our surrounding cities have amazing summer read a louds, book checkouts, and summer reading challenges.
You can also continue to use your Prosper ISD online reading resources. Log into your student's School Portal and access Calhoun's MackinVia account for options. Lightbox gives you access to thousands of books in several languages. Sora and Tumble Books have great audio picture books that are interactive and engaging. Click on the attached link for instructions on logging in.
