Welcome Back CMS Students and Families

Dear Coelho Parents and Families,

Welcome to another exciting school year! The entire Coelho Middle School faculty is thrilled to begin this journey with your children. Throughout the past year and summer months, we've worked diligently to create the most engaging and enriching educational experience possible for every student.

I firmly believe that creating an exceptional educational environment requires a strong partnership between our school, families, and community. Together, we can provide each child with a nurturing atmosphere that supports both academic rigor and well-rounded personal growth.

To maintain open communication throughout the year, please stay connected through our various platforms:

  • Coelho Middle School website
  • Coelho Middle School Facebook page
  • Aspen student information system
  • Your email for important updates

Additionally, I encourage you to explore the ROOMS App, which offers another valuable communication channel between teachers and families.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education.

Warm regards,

Andrew Boles
Principal

1st Day of School: What you need to know and expect

Listed below are some of the details that you should be aware of before your child enters school on September 2nd, 2025.

  • Drop off for students that are considered “walkers” @ 7:30 A.M. For students being dropped off, parents/guardians can enter the school at the second entrance, drive around the back of the building and drop the students off near the cafeteria @ Door “I”. Note: If a parent is wishing to come into the school and speak with a faculty member, you must park and enter at Door “A”, which is the main entrance of the building.

  • Students eating breakfast may enter the building @ 7:30 A.M. The rest of the students may enter the building @ 7:40 A.M.

  • Students should be seated in their homeroom by 7:50 A.M. Any student who is not in homeroom @ 7:50 A.M will be marked tardy. Students who are tardy must enter at door “A”.

  • If a student is tardy and arrives after 8:15 A.M., the student must be accompanied by the parent/guardian. If the child is coming from a doctor’s appointment, for the tardy to be excused, a note from the doctor must be presented when the student checks in.

  • The school day ends @ 2:20 P.M. Students that are staying after school need to make arrangements with the parent/guardian for pick up. Pick-up is in the same area as morning drop-off

  • Parents/guardians need to call in their child’s absence from school and follow up with a note. Students should also bring in their own combination lock and need to give the combination to their homeroom teacher.

  • The lunch program will be free again this year, but we are asking all parents still to fill out a free/reduced lunch form, as this helps with federal grant funding.

  • All students will receive a packet of forms to be filled out. Please make sure that you take the time to review and complete the necessary paperwork and return these forms to your child’s homeroom teacher as soon as possible.

  • On the first day of school, all grade 6th, 7th, and 8th students will report directly to their homerooms, which can be found on ASPEN. All fifth-grade students will report to the auditorium to meet the teachers and the administration

Forms and Documents that are needed for School

Forms that need to be passed back to the homeroom teachers.

  • Free/Reduced lunch forms: This is important, even though the lunch program is free this year, the amount of accurate applications that we have helps with federal funding that we receive from the government, which helps educate the students. Please make sure you fill this out, even if you think you won't qualify. Here is the link for the application. https://www.attleboroschools.com/page/food-services

  • Update Emergency Form

· From the Nurses Office:

  • Health Services Form- sent home on first day of school

  • Medication Orders dated after July 1, 2025, if your child requires medication at school

  • 7th graders- updated immunization records. 7th Grade updated immunization records: Brought in or faxed to the school nurse.

  • Any updated medical concerns

  • Please keep in mind if your child has an allergy that requires an EpiPen/antihistamine the order must omit the administration of the antihistamine while on a field trip- only the EpiPen can be delegated on a field trip.

Forms to be completed thru ASPEN

  • Handbook sign-off
