Bogota Middle School Update
November 15, 2024
Essentials
I hope you are all doing well as the holiday season quickly approaches. I want to thank you for your continued cooperation and support throughout the first quarter of the school year. It’s hard to believe how quickly the year is passing! This time of year can be hectic, and it’s easy to lose sight of what’s most important: family and mental well-being.
Please keep the following in mind:
Attendance is crucial to your child’s success. Being present and on time every day builds a foundation for future success, as studies consistently show.
Uniforms should be worn each day. This helps eliminate distractions and ensures your child is prepared and ready to learn.
Preparation is essential. Please encourage your child to come to school and each class with all the materials they need. This readiness supports effective learning and work completion.
These three factors are cornerstones of a successful school experience, and they make a real difference in your child’s education. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email.
6th Grade Apple Store Class Trips
Next week, sixth-grade students will enjoy a class trip to the Apple Store, where they'll explore exciting new developments in Apple technology and learn ways to interact creatively and responsibly. Teachers have sent home details regarding each class's visit schedule.

Bogota Middle School Author Visit!
- We’re thrilled to announce that Bogota Middle School will welcome author Matt Myklusch for an in-person visit on Friday, December 6th! Matt Myklusch, author of eight middle-grade novels published by Simon & Schuster and Lerner Books, will be here to inspire our students with insights on reading, writing, artwork, and creativity. His latest work, the Imagine Nation graphic novel series, debuts in January 2025, and we’re excited for students to get a sneak peek into his creative process!
- As part of this special event, students have the opportunity to order a signed copy of Matt Myklusch’s new graphic novel, Imagine Nation, complete with an original sketch drawn by the author! To order Imagine Nation or signed copies of Matt's other books, please fill out the form provided in the link below.
7th Grade Locks
If your child has lost the lock that was provided by the school at the beginning of the year, a new lock can be purchased for $8.00. Please call the main office to let us know. The locks on the lockers need to be given out by the school.
Thank you for your time, and we look forward to a wonderful remainder of the school year!
A Look Back
7th Grade Civics Veteran's Day
7th Grade students in Mrs. Del Rosso’s Civics classes explored the history of Veteran’s Day through various activities, including reading poems by World War I and II veterans and analyzing historical documents related to veterans.
