Principal Message
It was our first five day week in a while and we had lots going on. In addition to the classroom learning we had hot lunch sponsored by Drax on Tuesday as well as our School Council Meeting. Wednesday was picture day (Our class photos and individual retakes will be held on December 10th)
. And Thursday our Kernels Popcorn Fundraiser winners had their pizza lunch prize (orders will be delivered next week).
Note that when school busses are cancelled our school remains open for all students that are able to still attend.
Next week GYPSD school board trustees are coming to visit Lobstick schools on Monday. Our book fair is running Tuesday - Thursday students can access at lunch, and it will be open 3:45-5:30 Wednesday evening for families.
With weather dropping into the negatives it is important that students are fully dressed for winter including gloves, hats, snow pants, and boots. Outside recess continues until we hit a combined windchill/actual temperature of -20, please dress accordingly. It is a great idea to have some extra hats and gloves included with students extra clothes in their lockers.
As you may have already heard our BEST coach Mrs. Karen Riggs will be moving onto other opportunities. She will be wrapping up her work with GYPSD on December 3rd. We wish Mrs. Riggs all the best in her new position with Yellowhead County and want to thank her for her amazing work of the past number of years.
On December 3rd Mrs Carla Gylander, GYPSD Board Chair/Lobstick Trustee Melodie Bobliek and myself will be among those attending the Ad Hoc Committee on Wildwood Bussing meeting. This meeting is to ensure we are carefully considering the bussing plan for the new angulated school that will be starting in September of 2026. If you have thoughts that you would like shared please contact one of us and we will be happy to include your perspectives in our discussions on the matter.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out by calling the school at 780-325-3858 or emailing me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca

What a great and busy week!
Thank you again to Brightwood Ranch for Hot Breakfast on Thursday!
This week we learned a lot, read many books and are still working on our numbers 1-10. We had extra focus on 6, 7 and 8 this week! We did MANY activities that incorporated our numbers, even search and find within our own classroom!
We had a lot of self directed, creative time which was also a focus on fine motor skills!
We enjoyed our time in the Library, and the Gym with the K/1 class too!

FOPLS
Our students from Evansview, Wildwood, and Grand Trunk High School are coming together under one roof — and we want to make sure they have a playground that brings them together too!
The Friends of Pembina Learning Society (FOPLS) is running a raffle fundraiser to help create a fun, safe, and engaging space where kids can play, grow, and make memories for years to come.
Your support will help make this playground a place our children are proud to call their own!
