November 16, 2025 Cheyenne Newsletter
Congratulations to Victoria Rainwater, Natalia Bieniasz, Morgan Benson, Anabia Fakeha, Alexandria Howell, Declan Courtney and Naomi Perez on their FCCLA STAR competitive events. They all had top scores in their categories and qualify to move on to the Regional level. We are so proud of all of you!
Thank you to all our families who donated food as a game day ticket last week!
Starting Monday, November 10th, we will be hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive to help families in need. Please bring non-perishable food items such as cereal boxes, granola bars, canned soups, or pancake mix to your advisory teacher. The advisory class that collects the most items will win a donut party! The food drive ends on November 17th. Let's work together to make a difference!
Support our school and the book lovers in your family by visiting the Cheyenne Book Fair Nov. 11–18. Find great books, start your holiday shopping early, and help earn rewards for our library with every purchase. Thank you for helping us grow a community of readers!
Buy a book for yourself and buy a book for a child from our media center book fair this week! FCCLA is collecting new and gently used books to donate to elementary students as part of a reading buddy program. Donate books in the FCS room, media center or front office. See Mrs. Wildman or Cici Eve for details.

Showing Up Matters: Supporting Student Success Through Attendance
Dear Cheyenne Families,
We want to share some important information about the impact of attendance on student success.
Chronic absenteeism happens when a student misses 10% or more of school days—about 18 days per year. Missing this much school can make it harder to keep up with lessons, complete assignments, and fully participate in class, creating gaps in learning.
Truancy occurs when a student misses school without a valid excuse. It can signal that a student is struggling, facing challenges at home, or feeling disconnected. Students who are chronically absent or truant often have lower grades, struggle with key skills, and feel less confident.
In high school, poor attendance can lead to failing classes or not earning enough credits, which may delay graduation and affect college or job plans.
Regular attendance helps students learn more, build good habits, and stay connected to their school community. Every day matters, and we encourage all students to be present and engaged whenever possible.
Thank you for your support in helping your child succeed!
Sincerely,
Cheyenne Administration

Cheyenne Food Pantry
Hi Mustang Families,
With the start of the new school year, the Cheyenne Food Pantry could use your assistance with stocking the pantry shelves. The Pantry supports over 50 students and their families each week by providing supplemental food assistance on the weekends. The Pantry partners with the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank and Project 66 monthly, but depends heavily on the generosity and donations from the school community as well.
Thank you in advance for your support!

Student IDs
Students are required to wear their student ID every day.
The ID badges contain an RFID card that will be scanned when riding the school bus each day. The ID badge also allows students to check out library books, check in to school, and to purchase breakfast and lunch items, as well as be used for our new pass system during the school day. Having and wearing your student ID allows us to provide a safe environment by identifying Cheyenne Students and Staff as belonging to our school!
Students are expected to call home when they don't have an ID. If they lose their ID it cost $5 to replace it.
Cafeteria Accounts
Dear Families,
Please watch your emails for updates regarding your child's cafeteria balance. Students with negative account balances are allowed to charge up to $25. When negative account balances are not paid, students will be provided an alternative meal. We encourage you to view the account online at https://www.schoolcafe.com/edmond . Here, you can create an account or log into an existing account to see details regarding your child's balance and purchases, as well as complete a free and reduced lunch form. Remember, all items purchased at the snack bar are considered à la carte items.
Please get in touch with our school cafeteria manager if you have questions. judy.thompson@edmondschools.net
