Advanced Placement (AP) courses are rigorous, college-level courses that align with the Texas Education Agency Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the College Board standards and skills.
Dual Credit
Dual credit courses provide an opportunity for students to be enrolled in a required high school course while they are also enrolled in a corresponding course at NCTC. Students earn high school and college credits at the same time! Check out the Dual Credit SMORE for more detailed information about this great opportunity!
We have an exciting new Dual Credit opportunity for 10th grade students! Look for it on your course card or ask you teacher or counselors!
Honors
Honors courses offer an additional layer of depth and complexity applied to the standard core content alongside the high expectations and authentic learning experiences found in all LISD courses.
College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR)
Regardless of the pathway our students pursue - College, Career, or Military - LISD strives to ensure student readiness for any of these future endeavors. College, Career, & Military Readiness (CCMR) is about preparing students for life after graduation and is integrated into the everyday culture of LISD

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is an academic-prep program that helps students succeed in high school and beyond. AVID classes teach students study skills, time management, note-taking, and other organizational strategies. Students also learn about the college application process and career opportunities.
Sports and Athletics
The goal of the LISD Athletics program is to provide athletic experiences that will contribute to the personal, physical, and psychological development of all athletes who choose to participate. These experiences will be consistent with the educational goals of the Lewisville Independent School District and will work in concert with the academic program of the district. The athletic program will become more competitive as the levels increase from eighth grade to the freshman level, to the junior varsity level, and finally, the varsity level.
