We made it! After the incredibly cold weather caused us to have three virtual days this week, it was great to see everyone back in the building. Thank you for all you did to support your student during the virtual instruction times. We were fortunate that it had been a long time since we had one so it took a little time to get everyone back in the groove and they did it! Thank you also to our teaching staff and instructional assistants that worked so hard to provide instruction and support from whole group to individual meetings. It takes a lot to keep students engaged while they are learning virtually.

The weather looks like it should be getting a little warmer next week. Please continue to send your student in layers with jackets and gloves as they may even get to go outside for recess!

Attendance Celebration

Eventhough we were only here for a couple days this week, we were able to squeeze in our good attendance celebration! Thanks to our volunteers, students enjoyed snowcones after lunch. Snowcones are still fun even when it's cold outside!

Guidance Guidance

Classroom guidance is introducing lessons that are part of the evidenced-based COPE Program (Creating Opportunities for Personal Empowerment). The COPE Program teaches children how their thoughts also affect how they feel and behave. They will be learning healthy ways to cope with negative events or thoughts that may occur in their lives. This program will be taught for the remainder of the semester.

Virtual Instruction Virtual Instruction

Parents will be notified through the school messenger system by email and/or phone for 2hr delays or if there is a need for virtual instruction. It will also be posted on our website. The Virtual Learning Website is accessible on our Maconaquah Schools Website under the parent, student, and quick link tabs. This includes the schedule for each building, as well as other helpful tips and resources. Please see below for the expectations for Mac El Students.

Attendance Attendance

Regular attendance is crucial for studentsโ€™ academic success. When students miss school, they often miss important lessons, assignments, and opportunities for interaction with their classmates and teachers. This can lead to falling behind in their studies and feeling discouraged. Itโ€™s essential for students to attend school consistently to build a strong foundation for their education and future goals.

If your child will not be at school, you must leave the reason for your child's absence when calling into the attendance line. Thank you!
