Edison Newsletter!
Dear Edison Family,
We have had a wonderful time celebrating the great things happening on our campus!
Please join me in congratulating our Students of the Month—First Grader Melody Teremy and Pre-K student Bailey Hilliard. We are very proud of their hard work and positive example!
A big shout out to our District Employee of the Month, Katy Pyle. Mrs. Pyle consistently goes above and beyond for both our teachers and students, and we are incredibly grateful for all that she does to support our campus.
An equally big congratulations to Susan Kimmel, who has been named District Teacher of the Month. Mrs. Kimmel does an outstanding job with her students and works tirelessly to ensure they are learning and growing each day. We are proud to have her represent Edison Elementary.
Looking ahead, our First Grade Spring Concerts are coming up soon! Be sure to check the flyer below for more information—we look forward to seeing you there.
We are also excited for our upcoming Fiesta Night! This special event showcases our students as they perform traditional dances that celebrate and honor Hispanic culture. It is always a wonderful evening filled with music, culture, and community. Please see the flyer below for more details.
⭐ Character Lesson of the Month: Cooperation
This month our school is focusing on the character trait Cooperation. Cooperation means working together, listening to others, and helping one another reach a common goal. In classrooms and throughout the school, students will practice sharing ideas, taking turns, encouraging classmates, and being supportive teammates. When we cooperate, we help create a stronger, kinder school community for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support of Edison Elementary. We appreciate all that you do to help make our school a great place for our students to learn and grow!

Recurring reminders:
Traffic Reminder 🚗
To help keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently, please turn right when exiting the school during arrival and dismissal. This small change will help reduce congestion and ensure a smoother transition for all families. Thank you for your cooperation!
Also, when crossing the street or high traffic areas, please make sure to be crossed by a crossing guard at the cross walk, thank you.
Reading and Writing at home: We do a great deal of reading and writing at school. Parents/Guardians, if you could help us out by helping your kiddos with their home work, also reading to them, and having them write something short and age appropriate (pre-k: trace some letters, Kinder: write a few short words, 1st grade: write a short sentence), would go a long way.
Homework Reminder: I want to take this opportunity to encourage all parents to support their children with their homework. Your involvement in your child's education plays a crucial role in their academic success. By working together, we can ensure that our students are reaching their full potential.
Parental Involvement: Research consistently shows that students perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education. I am proud to share that our school has seen a significant increase in parental engagement over the past year. Let's keep up this positive momentum as we work together to support our children's learning journey.
Summer School Update: I must inform you that there will not be summer school offered this year for attendance recovery. Therefore, it is imperative that your student attend school on time each and every day unless they are sick. If they are sick please leave a doctors note with the front office.
School policy: Parents, we will not allow early pick up of students after 3pm, including Doctors appointments, etc...
Transportation Changes: ALL Transportation changes must be made no later that 12pm. Any changes after that time cannot be made. Thank you,
Congratulations!
