Message From the Principal
Welcome back, Red Wolves families! We have had an amazing first few weeks. Our athletics and activities are in full swing, and it was wonderful to see so many families at last week’s football game. The Marching Band put on a fantastic halftime show! We kicked off the school year with a fun assembly filled with games and our school fight song, followed by a huge turnout at the Corn Roast Parade that Saturday. We also have big reasons to celebrate: our graduation rate has reached almost 94%, our SAT and PSAT scores keep rising, and our students report feeling a better sense of belonging. As caring and reflective learners, we are so proud of this progress, and with your help, we know we can make even greater strides.
At our assembly, we shared some great wisdom: "80% of life is showing up every day." To be principled and successful, our students need to be present, prepared, and ready to learn every single day. Please help us by encouraging good attendance habits at home. Also, a quick reminder about school procedures: if your student leaves during the school day for an appointment and returns, please make sure they stop by the attendance office to check in before heading back to class.
As we work together to nurture balanced, open-minded, and knowledgeable thinkers, I want to make sure you have all the information you need. What extra details or topics would be helpful to include in our upcoming monthly newsletters? Are there specific event dates, club updates, or volunteer opportunities you would like to know more about? Please let us know so we can keep our Red Wolf community fully connected!

Supporting Students’ Future Paths through ICAP
This month, LHS will continue to support students with their Post-Secondary and Workforce Readiness through the Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP).
The ICAP is a Colorado initiative designed to help students and families explore career and postsecondary opportunities. Its main goals are to:
Build awareness, knowledge, and skills for planning future pathways.
Help students recognize their strengths and interests.
Support informed academic and career decisions.
Develop essential life skills, such as financial literacy and self-awareness, to prepare for college, career, or military service.
At Thompson School District, students in grades 6–12 use Xello, an online platform, to create their own ICAP. Through Xello, students explore career and college options, learn more about themselves, and build a personalized plan for their future.
We will be doing ICAP Activities on an Alternate Schedule on September 15! Thank you for supporting these efforts!
