Dear Winton Families,

We hope you had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break! As we return, we have two very busy and exciting weeks ahead. Please ensure your student is attending school each day so they don’t miss out on any of the learning and fun.

Information about classroom Christmas parties will be coming home from your child’s teacher soon.

A few important upcoming events:

  • Thursday, December 18th: Our Winton Wolves will watch The Grinch (illustrated version). This film is rated PG. If you have concerns about your child viewing this movie, please contact your classroom teacher.

  • Friday, December 19th: We will hold our Leader of the Pack Assembly, followed by our school-wide Christmas Sing-Along.

We are moving into a joyful season and look forward to celebrating the holiday spirit together. If your family needs any assistance during this time, please reach out to our school counselor, Ms. Bri.

Thank you for your continued support!

Parents, Please Dress your Student for the Weather

Winter weather has arrived in CDA! Our students are thrilled to bundle up and enjoy the snow. In true kid fashion, our Winton Wolves are building snowmen, making snow angels, rolling in the snow, and sliding around at recess.

As the snowy season continues, please make sure your child comes to school with appropriate outdoor gear each day. This includes gloves, hats, snow boots, and warm jackets. Students often get wet while playing, and if they do not have extra clothing to change into, the school will not be able to provide dry clothes — we simply don’t have enough to supply everyone.

If your family needs assistance with winter clothing, please reach out to Ms. Bri or Ashley Weeks, our Community School Resource Worker, and they will be happy to help.

Thank you for helping keep our Wolves warm and ready for winter fun!

For December

Happy holidays! December is a great time for sharing reading snuggled up on the couch with holiday themed books. You could find some books from the library about various holidays that are celebrated around the world, such as Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or Diwali. Have fun with your discoveries!

We understand that holiday travel often leads to time away from school and an increased chance of illness. As we move into December, we kindly ask that you make every effort to have your student at school each day. If your child isn’t feeling well, we still encourage them to attend unless they have a fever, are vomiting, or have diarrhea.

If your family has a planned vacation and you know your student will be absent, please contact the office or your child’s teacher. Thank you for your support!
