School Lunch
Breakfast is free for all students.
Student lunch costs $3.35. If the cost of lunch is a hardship for your family, apply for free or reduced-cost lunches via your Parent Portal.
If your student qualifies for free or reduced lunch, their first meal each day is provided at no cost or at the reduced rate, depending on eligibility.
Occasionally, cafeteria staff may have extra meals available. If a student chooses to receive a second lunch, they will be charged full price for that additional meal, regardless of their free/reduced lunch status.
Fruits and vegetables are always unlimited.
If a studentβs lunch account balance reaches - $15.00, a replacement meal will be provided.
No student will ever be denied a lunch, regardless of their account balance.
October's Lunch Menu
You may add money to your child's meal account through the MySchoolBucks portal ($3.75 fee per transaction), by cash or check to your child's school or with a credit card at Central Office (with a 3% credit card fee).
Nurse's Corner!
Fall is here, which means cooler weather, changing leaves, and lots of fun activities! As we head into October, here are a few friendly reminders from the nurseβs office.
π€§ Feeling Sick?
Please remember to keep students home when they are not feeling well. This helps them get the rest they need and helps keep our fellow Pirates healthy!
π Medication Reminder
All medications given at school must be checked in through the nurseβs office by a parent or guardian. Please do not send medication to school with students.
π§₯ Dress for the Weather
Missouri weather can be tricky! Please make sure your Pirate comes to school prepared for cooler mornings and warmer afternoons. Layers are always a great idea!
π§Ό Stay Healthy, Pirates!
A few simple habits can make a big difference:
- Wash your hands often π§Ό
- Cover coughs and sneezes π€§
- Get plenty of sleep π΄
- Eat healthy foods π
- Drink plenty of water π§
Please DO NOT send medication with your student.
Reminder: Cough Drops are not allowed to be sent to school with your student.
We do not keep ChapStick in the Nurse's office. If your student is needing ChapStick, please feel free to send one with them to keep in their backpack.
Please email Nurse Jolene if you have any health questions or concerns jschneider@bsd124.org

school without transportation or in the event that a kindergarten child does not have a suitable
party to pick them up when the buses drop off, or are not picked up from the crosswalk.
Emergency care is not pre-planned.
The fee for Emergency care is $15 per partial day (AM or PM) or $30 for a full day. If a child
repeatedly requires emergency care, the school office and SRO officer will be informed of the
situation. If fees for a previous instance of emergency care are not paid in full and care is
needed on another date, an SRO officer will be called and parents will need to be picked up.
After 3 emergency care cases, the family will be charged a $35 registration fee.
