From the TxSSC...

1. Registration Is Now Open for Summer 2021 SBLE Trainings

The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) has developed four school-based law enforcement (SBLE) trainings addressing the most critical topics relevant to SBLE officers today. This summer, we are offering three in-person trainings: TCOLE #41501 SBLE Introductory Training, TCOLE #41502 SBLE Intermediary Training, and TCOLE #41504 SBLE Advanced Training. We are offering one virtual training: TCOLE #4064.

The trainings are free to attend, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

These SBLE trainings support our mission to serve schools and communities towards creating safe, secure, and healthy learning environments for all. School-based law enforcement demands high standards, full commitment, and ongoing training in a variety of critical topics. If you are a Texas peace officer working in a school or responding to a school, this training is for you.

2. The Texas School Safety Center Youth Safety Summit is a three-day virtual event designed to educate and inspire youth seeking to become leaders in school safety. Students in grades 8-12 will have the opportunity to develop and expand their knowledge through workshops and skills clinics, as well as to connect with other youth across the state. Participants will leave with an action plan for implementing a project of their choice in their school or community.

Please help us spread the word to students who may be interested and encourage them to apply to attend!

3. Summer Virtual Training Opportunities

Register today for our virtual School Behavioral Threat Assessment, Sandy Hook Promise - Say Something, Standard Response Protocol/Standard Reunification (SRP/SRM) Train-the-Trainer, and Digital Threat Assessment trainings.

The trainings are open to Texas public ISDs, open-enrollment charter schools, junior colleges, school-based law enforcement, and state agencies that support schools. Due to limited space, vendors and contractors are not permitted to register for the trainings.

All virtual trainings will be provided through the Zoom online meeting/webinar platform.
