SPOTLIGHT: MRS. BROWNING'S ELA CLASS
SHATTER ME & UNRAVEL ME by Taherah Mafi:
The first book in the series is Shatter Me. Shatter Me is about a girl, Juliette, with special powers who was put in jail for murder. She then gets put into a mental institution for about one year, then is transferred to the military "reestablishment center" and was going to be transformed into a weapon. Eventually she and a friend were able escape and they ran away to a place for people with special abilities.
The second book, Unravel Me, continues Juliette's story as she navigates heartache, love and freedom. She needs to make important choices that will determine the direction of her life.
Why we like these books: The story is entertaining and keeps us engaged.
