Bulldog Bulletin
HEARTLAND ELEMENTARY- week of March 8, 2026
Greetings from the Principal
HELLO Bulldog families!
This is our last week of our Read-A-Thon. See above for information. If we can reach our goal, we have an added surprise that I think the students may like! It may involve cold water and the admin team! (:
The flu and stomach bug continue to circulate around our school. As much as we want and need our students in school, if they are throwing up overnight or have a fever, PLEASE keep them home so we don't keep spreading the illness. Hopefully with the weather warming up, all of these illnesses are about over.
Here are our reminders to help us keep the momentum going as we have a few weeks (20 school days) left until Spring Break:
1. Students should be practicing their math facts (all grade levels) for a few minutes each night. This keeps their minds sharp and helps with retaining those facts.
2. Students should also be reading a few minutes every night to help with fluency. Make sure to ask them some questions like who are the main characters or what was your favorite part to help with their comprehension.
3. VERY IMPORTANT--- Students must be in their classrooms by 7:30AM. If your child is dropped off in the morning, please make sure to be in the car line a few minutes early to ensure they get in the school on time. We average 180 car drop offs in the morning, so please make sure you give yourself time to get your child dropped off in time.
If you have other questions or need additional information, please click on the link at the end of this newsletter for our Parent/student handbook, or feel free to call our office or email us.
Have a great week everyone!
Respectfully,
Emily Campbell
Principal
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PTO
HALF WAY THROUGH THE READ-A-THON ----
Make sure to log your minutes to help us reach our goal of 30,000 minutes read! The top reader in each grade will receive a prize and the class that raises the most funds will receive a treat of choice. If we reach the 30,000 minutes then we earn a PJ day AND a surprise reward from Mrs. Campbell. You do not want to miss this! Minutes matter, so read on Bulldogs!
We have several projects we are working to fund along with the many things PTO currently funds. If you would like to hear about everything we have coming up please do not hesitate to join us for our next PTO meeting.
Stay tuned for information about an upcoming dance and our Spring Carnival!
